This Corona Virus Mania is Just Too Much, We All Need to Chill!

The reports are saying that it’s not a CRISPR derived virus but possibly a virus collected I. The wild that got loose. The truth is, we cannot trust anything the CCP says.

Not a finished one at least. It's actually very much like what you'd want to start with. It's got the vector you want, just not the DNA you want.

How well you know the American media landscape, I can't say. That is The Washington Post.

Lagonda - I hope you and your family stay safe and Denmark is spared the worst of this.
Thank you Tim, we have until now
been very lucky. And hopefully you
and my many friends in the US will come trough this unharmed.

Why not simply visit other threads, if this one is not
something you appreciate ?
I have not seen any open animosity
anywhere, just grownups sharing
information, a good place to pick
up information from sources in different countries and media.

There are few grown ups on this thread. Politics violates the TOS.

Also, I'm sorry but...

Plausibility:

A virus with a desirable vector for greatly improving human health or causing a determinant to it from a lab located in the area, in a country not afraid to develop anything.

or

Someone randomly eats an uncooked bat - a creature we share a 200,000 or so year history with, with lots of mixing, lots of bat poop use, common areas, most of which predating soap - and then the world is infected.

It can't be that hard to think the ladder is possible. And thinking that doesn't mean you think it was on purpose to release it. I don't think this is political unless you want it to be or it becomes proven to be.

Simply not clicking on the thread is a elegant solution ;)

Respectfully, we will have to agree to disagree. I do not agree that every theory is a conspiracy theory.

The word "conspiracy" has independent meaning. Generally, in criminal law, a conspiracy involves two or more people taking action in furtherance of a crime.

A scientist who accidentally fails to decontaminate himself from viral particles and leaves his laboratory and accidentally infects someone has not committed a conspiracy. Literally by definition, the theory that this may have happened is not a "conspiracy" theory.

There's dictionary definition and there's common useage, they are not always the same. The entire premise of your argument is flawed, and is in fact incorrect.

Plausibility also does not define a conspiracy theory, many conspiracy theories are plausible to many, otherwise nobody would believe them.

I agree the possibility the virus escaped the lab is plausible, yet it is still, 100% absolutely, a conspiracy theory.

Lagonda san. Have you taken a shower lately? :D

Dave, I'm with Ron here. The common usage of conspiracy isn't always whether one actor or not was involved in the theory, but rather that multiple people are acting to cover up what happened. It does not defy the definition in any way what so ever. Either multiple parties are involved in the direct actions or multiple people are involved in the cover up. Otherwise it's he said she said. It is not 100% conspiracy theory, but it's 100% speculation to the outside world.

Like I said it's your nature! You're the only one in this entire thread that didn't join the conversation but came in to start a fight when you could have let everyone be.

No - multiple people have been warned of politics already and ad hominem posts deleted. This thread even started with a warning from mods basically lol.

I'm actually a healthcare/hospital analyst, have numerous investments in the sector, and have been talking to management teams while you guys are debating "fake news" and conspiracy theories. So to tell me to buzz off from a topic i'm intimately involved with is ironic.

Well, that's ok... Northstar generally puts together more coherent posts than you do! :p

@KeithR , do hospitals regulate inventory like police departments do, where they have to track the price of their gasoline stores and pay capitol gain tax or calculate depreciation?

I'm curious because if the price of PPE sharply went up before we know how bad cv19 was, because China was buying hordes of it (we know this to be true), hospitals may have chosen to sell some as opposed to potentially pay capitol gains...

You made us all endure your speaker thread. I think you owe us a little leeway here now.

If you have something to share please go ahead I'm sure people are interested but if you're here to moderate us like you have been, then yes, buzz off.

Every couple of days Tang, i use the smell as a deterrent, people automatically
stay more than 2 meters away from me. I do shave though, because i realized that my beard is coming in white these day, and small children get attracted because they think i am Santa.;)

If you haven't watched the movie Contagion from 2011, this is the time to do it. It was discussed here years ago https://www.whatsbestforum.com/threads/contagion-trailer.3845/ . I see other references on this site from 2017.

It is chilling - even shocking - how it realistically portrays what is happening right now, down to the very last frame. Don't miss the prophetic language all around, especially in the Chinese village between the scientist and the child - all 10 seconds of it. It is so good that it is effectively a documentary of our times.

Yes, we watched it three weeks ago. Quite scary. One big difference is that in the movie the country of origin did not hide information from the rest of the world to delay response. The woman, case #1 or 2 is an American and so the WHO and CDC acted much sooner after the first cases were known. There was no cover up or delayed response described in the movie that I remember from watching it.

The movie did not portray national, corporate, or individual profiteering nor the main stream media and 40% of the citizens and many governors and local politicians openly criticizing POTUS and calling for investigations. When this is said and done, we will be sitting through yet more inquiries, investigations and calls for impeachment? I sure hope not.

The movie also does a timeline and explains the origin. Now some say anything but the official explanation is a conspiracy theory. Finally, we have not yet reached the point of armed conflict with open hostility and testing our rights to bear arms to defend our safety. I hope we don’t get there.

Agreed, Ron.

As I said, I find the idea that it happened that way awfully plausible, unfortunately.

When Ron asked this exact same question a couple of weeks ago in the now closed thread, it was dismissed as a crazy conspiracy theory. Now that it is asked by the Wash. Post it is suddenly credible? I don’t get that. What changed?
