1/14/20 - WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus announces Chinese authorities have seen "no clear evidence of human-to-human transmission of the novel coronavirus."
1/21/20 - When asked "We don't have to worry about this one, right?" US Dr. Fauci, Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (for 36 years) said “Well, obviously you need to take it seriously. And do the kinds of things that the CDC and the Department of Homeland Security are doing, but this is not a major threat for the people of the United States and this is not something that the citizens of the United States right now should be worried about.”
Scientists make mistakes, but also evolve their opinions and assessments once more data are available. That's called the scientific process. But wilfully ignoring scientists once they raise the alarm is inexcusable negligence, in this case with lethal consequences.
Or already weakened as they are, might die from side effects of an unproven medicine. Controlled clinical trials are on the way, which is the way it should be done. But these take time. Falsely promoting the drug(s) before the outcome of these trials is known is inexcusable.

Now even The Washington Post is questioning whether it is a mere coincidence that this coronavirus originated in Wuhan, the same city in which the Wuhan National Biosafety Laboratory, the only high-security virus research laboratory in China, is located:
How does genuine hopefulness based on at least one small study and on numerous anecdotal reports of improvement equal "lies and false hopes"?
I have a friend who has at least one pre-existing condition, and who follows medical news closely, and who has already asked his diabetes doctor if he can take this combination prophylactically.

I find it difficult to believe that there is any link between Covid 19 and the laboratory.
On past evidence of other viruses animal/bat transmission seems much more credible to me but thank you for drawing our attention to this report.

i respect that you’re a scientist and you need proof but from my own perspective youre being narrow minded. First off the FDA has relaxed its indications for the off label use of these drugs.
What’s the alternative if you have some one who is deathlly sick? you’d deny its use because of unproved efficacy? Really.
i totally disagree. Furthermore medicall boards are also approving off label use
sorry Al but these drugs in the recommended dose for short duration are relatively innocuous. Not only would i prescribe these drugs but so also do I plan on taking them if the need arises.

The reports are saying that it’s not a CRISPR derived virus but possibly a virus collected I. The wild that got loose. The truth is, we cannot trust anything the CCP says.

Fine, Steve, I don't have a problem with your individual decision. But individual decisions regarding this are different from generally promoting something as a miracle drug before any proof is in.
And while it may be true that these drugs in the recommended dose for short duration are relatively innocuous, this may not hold for already gravely weakened patients. Again, general recommendations are misplaced at this point, before we know more.

I responded to your chastisement of American leaders to listen to agencies and scientists by telling you what those agencies and scientists were saying at the outset. Turns out they were wrong at that time, in part because of the lack of data from the CCP and its denial of access to the US CDC. In the US, agencies and scientists can provide expertise but they don't hold the same responsibilities and liabilities of elected officials.
From CNN page tonight.....this reminds me so much like ARDS (acute respiratory distress syndrome) only worse. I had a family member die of ARDS about 12 years ago. Fluid built up in the lungs and went into cardiac arrest. This virus destroys your lungs.
Brooklyn, New York (CNN)One emergency room. 40 minutes. Six patients went into cardiac arrest. Four died before they made it out of the ER.
The blare of the critical "CODE 99" from the hospital alert system rang out five other times in less than an hour, calling medics to scramble to a patient needing resuscitation.
It's not chaos, but to an onlooker, it seems like hell.
"They're so sick you lose them in a heartbeat, they're that sick," respiratory therapist Julie Eason told CNN. "They're talking to you and then a few minutes later you're putting a tube down their throat and you're hoping that you can set the ventilator in such a way that it actually helps them."
This is the truth of what coronavirus is doing to thousands of Americans, and likely will to many thousand more. It has been largely unseen because visitors are not allowed to be in hospitals, and everyone else is staying home.

Gravely weakened patients have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Al. The FDA and medical boards have relaxed their indications Doctors prescribe drugs in off label use all of the time for no other reason than they work and you continue to say that the medical boards and FDA are wrong as you continue to take issue with it.
I respectfully disagree Al
