Totaldac new DACs

A Totaldac CD transport concept will be used at the Paris Audio Video show the 26-27-28 October 2024.
This CD drive uses many Totaldac technologies proven in the DACs and reclockers. The mechanism is a today's CD pro 8.
It will show that the Totaldac d1-triunity DAC can sound as good with a local files, internet streaming or with a good CD transport.

Hi Vincent,
Congratulations!

May you disclose more details of this new CD transport :
What types of digital outputs do it have?

Hi CKKeung,
Yes,
coax spdif output (an input which is often free with in a Totaldac DAC, reclocker or streamer).
same live-power power supply as Totaldac DACs
same massive copper plate as Totaldac DACs
same damping feet as Totaldac DACs
custom clock, internal reclocking and spdif output stage
custom internal damping
today's top loading CD Pro mechanism (I always liked the Philips CD Pro mechanism)

Hopefully display color can be matched to dac display color and some sort of closing lid can be introduced? Maybe also AES/EBU and I2S outputs?

Yes, an aes/ebu digital output is essential .
And if possible, an I2S digital output too please.
Thanks!

Yes, a closing lid is planned but done yet. The display may change too.
Yes AES-EBU could be added (since the DAC has this input). For I2S I don't know.

Yes I agree for AES-EBU.

Can we known the price of this new player ?

For the moment it is a concept to demo what sound the Totaldac DACs can produce when used with a CD transport (in addition to what they do when used with a streamer).

Which medium do you prefer with respect to SQ?
Thx

What a pity !

It is hard to say which I prefer but I can confirm that the CD transport is improved when used with a Totaldac reclocker.

The Totaldac d1-unity DAC and the d1-streamer-sublime are classified A+ in the Stereophile RECOMMEDED COMPONENTS 2024.

Thank you.
The same d1-triunity will be on demo next hifi show in Paris, October 26-27-28.
The demo is much improved again compared to last Munich show. It should be great.
The source will be streamer playing local files and Qobuz, or a CD transport.

Vincent congratulations with your new product!
As I am sending this message, I want to share that I find the sound quality of my 'Totaldac triunity DAC' + 'd1 streamer/reclocker sublime' (and of course the 'd1 drivers sublime') better than many high end DAC/ Streamers that I listen to at high end shows. As it is always difficult to let go old gear, initially I was reluctant to choosing Totaldac. But I absolutely don't regret it. The recent 'live clocking' option has improved the sparkling sound of Totaldac even further. I look forward to exploring this new CD transport as a matching new source.
I hope to see you at the Paris Show.
