What is Bliss?

It's an inner state of deep calmness and peace and one with all.

“A transcendental state of superior calm including within itself the consciousness of a great expansion and that of ‘all in One and One in all.’”
When that sense of ego, of separation, melts away, a feeling of total connectedness, of no sense of a “me” separate from all of creation descends, that is bliss consciousness.

It's cream cheese (camembert) on cucumber's slices atop tiny buns of French bread from the oven. It's my avatar. :b

..if the cellist is cream cheese please send me a pound

Bliss is accomplished by having "alone time" (COMPLETELY ALONE AND IGNORING THE WORLD), having a disconnected phone line/turned off ringer, not answering the doorbell (I don't have an easy way to turn that off), a stack of CD's to listen to, nobody else at home, no interruptions, no outside noise, a few hors d'oeurvres to snack on and a little wine or something to drink.

I ACTUALLY DO THIS one day of the weekend every week. Sometimes I'll see a car pull up to my driveway or see a telephone light up and I will make believe I don't see it even if I know someone is at the door and they can clearly hear my music. One day of the weekend is TOTALLY MINE and I don't let anyone or anything disturb it.

A few weeks ago in the humor and joke thread, someone said I was grumpy.

I still contend that I am NOT grumpy. I am a cynic who enjoys musical solitude.:D :D :D

I wouldn't have it any other way!

I do this also except the phone part (my number one most hated device on the planet, but nessasary) as my youngest is a Type1diabetic so I always keep it visible when I turn the ringer off. I have ZERO problems ignoring it otherwise.

I understand your situation.

I didn't say before, but I'll say now that I do keep my office emergency phone handy over the weekend in case a patient has an emergency. Luckily it doesn't ring often. If it rings once over the weekend that's a lot.
