I picked this up new five years ago at the time of its release. The 1/4” mono recording was made, mixed and mastered by Rudy Van Gelder on June 24, 1964. Side men are McCoy Tyner, Elvin Jones, and Jimmy Garrison. It’s a nice find for Ravi Coltrane … mining for gold. I’d buy it again.
A 1987 offering from DAW’s audiophile catalog. Recording is what drove David’s passion for serious speakers. These records give you a glimpse inside his head.
The performance is first rate, as is the recording. I love these pieces … especially the Debussy.
Listening to Tchaikovsky’s glorious Symphony No 5 in full multichannel SACD. God almighty, could anyone write a melody as beautiful as the slow movement in this symphony? The Philadelphia Orchestra under conductor Christoph Eschenbach gives a glorious reading of this warhorse, and the Ondine recording is first class. The brass, which there is a lot of, sounds golden and just so right.
Mr. Buggle... lol
I remember seeing Trevor singing for Yes in 1981 promoting their album "Drama".
A couple of years before in 1979 he was with Jeffery Downs with a hit pop song "Video Killed The Radio Star"..
This one is live in Montreal recorded on November 24, 1980. The record was resurrected in 2016. FWIW, I saw Dizzy live in 1976. Those cheeks are incredible. And, of course, his signature up tilt bell.
