*** HUGE Cat Steven's fan. ...(Joseph - Yusuf).

>>> The event that changed his life (almost drowned into the ocean);
the same exact thing happened to me, and just couple years after his own experience.
This guy (Joseph, or Cat Stevens) and I, we have a very very very strong connection, and it goes back to the very early seventies.

This is the 3rd album of the ORG re-issues of the Black Lion label that I have received. Each complete album set is two 45rpm records and the same song set on a single 33 and 1/3rpm record. This album and the Duke Ellington, "The Feeling of Jazz" are both great re-releases. Dexter is in fine form on this album and the band really clicked. I was a little disappointed with the content of the Miles Davis, "Bopping The Blues", as it is just three retakes of only four different tunes. It's kind of interesting, to hear the differences, but overall, is not a great album, though I liked the four songs. In all album sets, the 45rpm version was much better than the 33 1/3rpm version, though the slower version was still good.

Transcontinental flights are boring. I took the opportunity to listen to some old Favorites some of these compilations. I will list them from time to time but I had a blast on this.. I sincerely believe that Led Zeppelin is the best Rock Group of All time (IME, IMHO, YMMV, etc ;) ). This compilation is very good in term of material... Well it is loud unfortunately and compressed but remains enjoyable .. I have a SHM CD box of the !,II, III and IV albums and these are superior , better sounding by light-years but that will do and it allow me to have a great sample of these incredible musicians...

I have both the CD and LP boxset of Mothership, and, like you, I think LZ is one of the best groups ever and I'm a huge fan.

I am however really disappointed in that this boxset didn't include "The Rain Song", which IMO is the best song in their entire catalogue.

Forgive the inclusion of the video, but I couldn't help myself! :D

Now that you mention it, that is an inexcusable faux-pas. As for best of their repertoire ... I beg to differ . I don't know to which piece I would bestow this honor but it wouldn't be "The Rain Song".

It's Kashmir. Just ask Robert.

We all have our faves for our own reasons...no right or wrong there. Just like their albums....my fave happens to be "In Through The Out Door". Others could debate my choice, but it won't change my mind.

Me thinks a solid night of LZ is what the Dr. ordered. Great, great band!
