My experience with YG Sonja XV is that they can sound almost anyway you want them to. I have heard them in my room with a Boulder 3060 and ARC 160 monos. Also the DAG Relentless at Alma. IMO the XV play whatever is sent to them. The ARC/XV had the tube tone so many audiophiles adore. The Relentless was somewhere between the ARC and Boulder. With the 3060, far more detailed and played sounds on recordings lost with both the ARC and Relentless. My audiophile friends thought the ARC/XV and Relentless/XV wonderful and the Boulder not so much. To me, the 3060 was by far the best, with ARC second and Relentless third. Same speakers but remarkably different sounds depending on the amp.
