As the replacement brackets have either been delivered, or are now in process of being delivered, mine is arriving tomorrow, should we just hold until we hear further information or should we try the new brackets with our existing cards?

The bracket is actually not the problem, but the second bracket does make for a nicer fit. We’re working on a remote fix by means of a firmware update.

Thank you. It seems best to wait until we hear what the new solution is.

When I get my bracket I intend on installing it since right now I am running bracket-less. The card needs to be installed in order to update the firmware.

Sure, better to have a bracket than not. Are you running the new or old card?

I have been running the new card for 5-6 days now with no connectivity issues.

Since I'm one of the lucky ones with no issues with the bracket, do I have to swap it out for the new one?

Also can I check what's the timeline for the router and the new digital interface card to be released?

Do yourself a favor. Queue up and listen to this track by my new favorite singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist and guitarist extraordinaire Tash Sultana:

Pink Moon, from the album Flow State.

Play loud!

You can thank me later.

In the spirit of this track, I recommend also listening to ((( O ))). I know, this is impossible to search for, but it will help if you know one of the song titles, for instance, "Infintro", which is track one of the album ((( 1 ))). Sorry, I am not making up these names and it does not help infintro is spelled without an i. It's like she does this on purpose...:) Anyway, well worth listening to, I promise!

If your card and bracket are working consistently well there is no reason to swap.

The release of the router is not yet set in stone but things are moving favorably and it should not take very long anymore.

There is not yet a predetermined timeline for the Interface.

Yes working on it, details to follow!

How great is this to read this first thing upon awakening. I know from all those pictures Emile posted yesterday that this was serious business as he had a team of engineers working to crack the problem with the intent of sending new replacement cards...but now to read about a firmware fix is even better all around for everyone. Kudos Taiko.....as always

Great news on finding the problem and a f/w fix so quickly. I signed up to be on the (b)leading edge and this goes with the territory. I have complete faith in both the technical understanding and skills of team taiko as well as trust in their ability to hear what I hear.

On the other hand, more tales of FedEx. In chronological order, this morning I got FedEx updates a) my bracket will be delivered Wednesday, b) my bracket has been delayed and won't arrive until Wednesday and c) my bracket is out for delivery today.

My bracket left Fedex facility in NL as of 03/17 and no word since. The Transit Date has today as the delivery. No sign of any Fedex truck in my neighborhood so far. Hoping that it will show up.

I'm in the same FedEx cluster f as you two guys....

I hope the firmware fix has nothing to do with error reporting in the OS. That would seem like a band-aid fix.

Really? Does that sound at all like the way taiko approaches things?
I wouldn't worry about that.

I have been a streaming only fanatic for quite some time now. I do have a few hundred local files (albums) and maybe 30 or 40 DSD files on the Extreme. I NEVER listen to them.

I thought I would try the local files both 44.1 and DSD now that I have the switch (old card at the moment). I am BLOWN AWAY with the local file playback. I can see why many only listen to local files only vs. streaming. I am going to have a hard time now listening to streaming UNTIL, the new card is remedied, the Router, the TACDA card and the BPS cometh.

It would be so amazing if with all of the upcoming enhancements brought streaming close to local file playback sonics, which at the moment there is still a LARGE discrepancy in the sound.

Edit: It has to do with the MUCH lower noise floor, which seems non-existent with especially the DSD files, but also Redbook.

Well said man, we are all on this journey together. I've been on my share of adventures, rarely do things go perfectly smooth. Consider this a bump in the road and the way Taiko rolls, I am certain they have discovered some other curious aspects that perhaps may enhance things further...

Absolutely and glad you agree (I'm not crazy, just normal audiophile ocd).

Now, are you playing local WAV or local FLAC? If local WAV, you are mainly hearing the wav vs. FLAC difference. If local FLAC, try local WAV and see what you think then.

I've installed my bracket and whether or not that solves everything, knowing the full fw fix is coming let me button things up and put everything back into my rack.

And since Emile says he has a WAV, vs. FLAC solution coming, that should resolve most of the streaming issue once and for all.

WAV >> FLAC > streaming flac

Where can you see if the files are WAV or FLAC files. I've never paid any attention other than if they were 44.1 or DSD files.
