I apologize but i may have mixed up my terminology of the input i was using. based on the sample rates supported i believe i was using the optical input of the spdif module and not toslnink as i was playing 192khz pcm without issue. thank you very much for the clarification and information about the best input from the taiko.

Tomas, which module of MSB are you using in the DAC? The SPDIF module of MSB DACs have two inputs: rca, the digital electric, and Toslink, the optical digital.

For my testing i was using the proisl usb, renderer and spdif module which has the coax and optical with word clock. in regards to my comments about the oladra sounding better over toslink than usb, i was using the optical connection of the spdif module which was why i was saying i was using toslink. but i was streaming all 24:192 pcm without issue. So at this point i might be slightly confused as to what terminology to use for the cable that puts out the little red light lol

96KHz is the standard but there are some solutions which can support 192KHz (it’s essentially just spdif).

Although this happens most of the time it is not mandatory - the DAC can buffer a few moments of music and operate asynchronously for a long period, sometimes using a clock a few tens of ppm slower than the standard clock. I do not remember the brand, but I read about such DAC.

Since long we had DACs that sent the clock back to the transports - I had experience with the Sony R1 and the Krell MD10, both using the ATT optical fiber links.

OK, here's an odd question. I keep getting email notices to update my iOS app for XDMS, and I do so on my iPad. However, I mostly control from my Windows 10 PC, and I don't get update notices there. Is there an update path for the PC that I'm missing?

All set now with Version 53. Sadly, I see that it stops music playing when you clear the Queue, which the earlier version I was on did not. Bummer, as it is handy to do so when you want things to stop at the end of the track playing.

You should install the last scanner-build too. At Discord you will get all the help you’ll need.
