Alternative static eliminator for vinyl playback

He spends all his money on Duelund an Hõrning components. ;)

He is mostly just cleaning his solder like below and Kedar is trying to drop in

But you do ;
constantly remove and replace
A requirement if you want to listen to a record. I would compare it more to a record weight/clamp. There’s just no reason to have it sitting over the spindle though since other options work perfectly fine with less hassle. I would be surprised if people on WBF want a plastic record weight.

You imply it’s left as plastic record weight during playback which is not true. You distort the facts about its function

I'll find out soon enough just how impractical or stupid it is.

Just received FedEx notice that the HumminGuru Orbit is on it's way from China to the front range of Colorado. We know a thing or two about static with humidity levels in the single digits come winter.

My CSPort IME1 arrives next week. After a lot of reading and research it's the one I decided to go with. Steve at Sounds of Silence is an absolute pleasure to deal with. Here in SoCal the Santa Ana winds make static a nightmare.

When I recently acquired a TT I realized quickly I needed to do something to mitigate the static on the vinyl. Have lots of experience with the ZeroStat but never thought it worked very consistently. Both the CSPort IME1 and DS Audio ION-001 Vinyl Ionizer were under consideration but I hesitated with adding another essentially "always on" device to the system plus I have an aversion to distracting lights (not a big deal but something I wanted to avoid if possible).

This thread hipped me to the HumminGuru products in general and the Orbit specifically. For me it wasn't a high risk acquisition so I took a flier on it. If it works; terrific. If it doesn't I have alternatives to try.

Certainly interested in why you chose the IME1 over the DS Audio product?
