Hand spinning the platter is only for AS2000 Francisco not for the EMT. I am also a lazy ass so I dont stop the platter spinning when I change the vinyl.

Tang :)

What mat are you using in the EMT? Probably the great sound of the AS2000 is also due to the molecules of the vinyl being strongly pulled when the LP drops in the platter! :)

Work of art!
Tango do you have all the arms connected, or do you manually need to switch the cables to use a different arm.

C'mon. You already know the answer to that: :D All connected

Can I just ask

Because actually I don’t know, not owning either :(

Why did you choose 4 3012R over the 4 SAT 9 inch ?

I am not trying to MF bash....but ummm....why ?

i'm guessing this is due to 2 'main' reasons;

#1----Tang is focused on cartridge compares, and the ease of switching head shells of the 3012r's is ideal for that.
#2----Tang only has 2 SAT's.....and likely only 2 SAT AS-2000 arm boards. (if he has 4 SAT's and 4 SAT AS-2000 arm boards, then.....sorry, I've not been paying enough attention lately).

Yikes, looks like an accident waiting to happen. You must need nerves of steel to place an LP (and remove it) from the platter without knocking any of those arms!

Which reminds me: I have always wanted to ask this question: Tang, do any of your plastic tonearm holders come off the steel arm rest rod? Mine comes off constantly, I'm thinking of gluing it...

If that's the case, I got nerves of steel. And Tang must be super steel to have let me and to watch me do that every minute of the day

#1- Nothing as mundane as that Mike, of course there's a selection but once made they stay on for listening pleasure. With this turntable, the AS-2000 and the quality of sound Tang has people don't waste much time with AB'ing, they enjoy music. The removable headshells is one of 3012-R's great features simplifying life and setup straightforward.

#2- Huh?? You think it's about looks and not sound quality?

Of course Awsmone,

1) 2 nos plus 2 mint costed me less than half of what I paid for SAT. Again "cheap."
2) Sonically it is about small plus/minus comparing to SAT. SAT has the kind of absolute resolution and details that can be view as more analytical in comparison to 3012R. Whereas 3012R has more organic tone, fuller more completed tone with the kind of resolution and clarity that unless you hear them next to each other in the same system and cart you would not notice it. May be it is the difference in arm wand material and tone arm wire I dont really know. You can come to my room, listen to my system with "SME only" and I can wow you with the clarity and resolution you cannot dispute. The difference I am talking is in degree with respect to one another, in relative term here, so dont go about labelling SAT as cold and analytical.
3) This SME is easy to set up and very durable. The design is primatively simplistic but surprisingly accurate. I can hold it like I hold my son's toy. SAT is maticulously made and more fragile especially on the bearing. I get nervous handling it and has to hold it like holding a small bird. I like things that are simple, accurate and durable.

Congratulations on the four SME arms. What cartridges are you now using in those arms?

Cables all connected.

Hi Mike,

Bonzo does a/b things not me. Two full days he with me, I havent seen him finished listening one full song. Looking at him just got me tired.
I like to listen to the whole album. I just enjoy different presentation or flavours each cart give me. The carts I have present very different sound to one another. I dont think that a single arm/cart can give universally best sound to all records.

You have a lemon Ian.

Yes, I was super steel, super titanium to watch you bounced my GFS on vinyl.
