Analog Magik

I only borrowed the wow/flutter meter to find the correct voltage for my Thorens, where it works stably with the least w/f. You do it right once and then you don't need to do it again. The old lady needs a couple of minutes and then it runs stably for hours...and hours. The built-in stroboscope is very accurate with correct voltage.
P.S the app says factory spec 0.07% td 124

Here is the best I could get on AM V1 33 rpm record vs B&K QR2010 which is my best 3150Hz record

AM 33 RPM record vs some other test records Ortofon/Analog Production Ultimate analog test record/ Toshiba LF-9001 all except Toshiba are 180grams
I have a Michell clamp with a felt pad to place around the spindle under the record, Using felt pad or not made a difference!
Denon 51F Shure V15 IV Jico SAS B set up with Toshiba azimuth track.
Fresh data taken today....

Crosstalk absolute dB value( disregards sign)

PS For some reason I do not get as good values on my Ortofon record as many others...

Here are some measurements I made with AM version 1 (Benz cartridge, SME tonearm, Verdier turntable, Kondo electronics and cables)

VTA at the beginning of the track
View attachment 142418

At the end of VTA track. You can see the flat line on oscilloscope window. It should not exceed %3 IMD throughout the track but it’s not easy with a used cartridge.
View attachment 142419

Azimuth (this is the only adjustment I use AP test disc instead of AM).
View attachment 142420
View attachment 142421

Anti-skating at the beginning of the track
View attachment 142422

In the middle
View attachment 142423

At the end. It should not exceed %1 and channels should be in %0.2
View attachment 142424

Resonance. There should be a peak between 8-12Hz with a clean looking graph.

Loading. (Not a very meaningful adjustment)

I’ll load wow&flutter measurements later.
Thanks Mtemur...Please confirm the AM reading is from the AP disk [only for this specific test]

All such fantastic work.......

For Zenith I think I could use AM on a(ny) test record and look for 0 phase difference between left and right channel,,right?
At the nullpoints the difference should 0.. Anyone tried this?my AM V1 Azimuth test gives a phase difference on a 15 min 3150hz L%R track that varies from -2 to +7 as i move from the edge to the center, with 0 in the area of the 120mm nullpoint... so I am not at the ideal set up it should have been in the 1-2degrees range ... but I would like to know if the method can work before I mess too much,,

@mtemur , do you find the zenith track useful on V2? I have the V2 coming soon. Is it possible to have both V1 and V2 running on the same PC or must V2 replace V1?
Happy new year to you too!

IMHO V2 zenith tracks are more useful than V1 VTA track and yield better results. It's not possible to keep both version on the same PC.

Happy New Year to all.

No, you cannot adjust zenith according to phase cause phase is predominantly determined by azimuth.

How should I interpret this...??? VTA IMD% test on V1View attachment 142599
IME if you aligned the cartridge to Baerwald (also Lofgren), the beginning of VTA track should be the lower than the end of the track. At least that's what I observed with all setups I made. Try to adjust zenith based on a couple seconds of the VTA track then check again. More importantly check overhang before doing all those.

Actually the aim is updated on version 2. Now it's recommended to do as I explained.
Thanks....not questioning your being correct but I could not find [appreciate my own stupidity] this correction on AM website re Azimuth ...please advise....

re "It's not possible to keep both version on the same PC"....I am able to have both software versions on the same PC but can only run one version at a time...please advise if there is an issue as I have not come across one yet [not to say there isn't one] .....
Cheers to all

Frank (and @mtemur), it is possible to have AM v1 and v2 installed at the same time on one computer. They are both installed on my laptop, but as AM requires the USB dongle to run, only one or the other version can be run at one time.

Great news!

By the way I am getting consistent results with AM V1 now on my AT OC9MLii on SME V and Michell Gyro SE.

AM33rpm shows falling IMD across the VTA track, down to 1.3% in best channel at end of track. I changed VTA by 2mm and increased VTF from 1.25 to 1.5g. The IMD was halved by this two changes . Fun!

I can also use the AP Ultimate Analog Test record in AM. The VTA track then shows 2.5-2.3% IMD , but both channels has the same value, which is not the case with AM where one channel is 1-2% higher than the other
VTA 33rpm end of track ( starts at 2.9 and 3.9%):
