What program do you use for this track?the track is too shot to work well with AM...
Thanks. I should be able to do the same in Audacity.Record in CoolEditPro
It sounds like there’s a story tied to that…I do not trust anything Audacity does…
You still need to edit away the talking..I guess that can be done by Audacity…possibly with no harm?It sounds like there’s a story tied to that…
Ah, I see you added VA. I have that and use it, yes. And REW!
Easy enough to do.You still need to edit away the talking..I guess that can be done by Audacity…possibly with no harm?
Correct; though I was having 60Hz ground hum issues so it was additive on the plot. The ground hum shows up at times, given that it is an old house. Why disregard the 60hz,? it is part of the 60:7000hz IMD test signal…. And supposed to be there ,right?
I wonder why the AM antiskate tracks are so low in level. 4.8db lower than the lowest antiskate track on the Ortofon record ( 50um).
certainly no match to track AM33 V2 antiskate track... Maybe there is is an objective I do not know of
I have both V1 and V2 . The V2 records were terribly warped and useless so I returned them , I was given some new cheery picked ones as replacement and they are good.So have people stayed with AMv1 or gone to AMv2? Probably, an easier jump going from v1 to v2 at the upgrade price than paying full price for v2.
Not sure the AM track is to make it mistrack; rather to measure resonance over time.Yes and the highest level is 4.8db lower than the lowest level if any sensible anti skate track. How can this track be useful at so low levels..? No cartridge will ever mistrack on the AM track . It is like measuring a fever with a thermometer that reads no more than 50F..
I have V1 and V2 but have stayed with using V2 for now. I didn't have issues with warping on my V1 and V2 LPs.I have both V1 and V2 . The V2 records were terribly warped and useless so I returned them , I was given some new cheery picked ones as replacement and they are good.
V1 software is useful with other test records too, V2 not so much. For Azimuth I do not use the AM records since their crosstalk is mediocre, other record like Ortofon and Ultimate Test record are better, but can only be used by V1 software. You can download both V1 and V2 software and choose what to use. The only thing V2 provides in addition to V1 is the Zenith track and a much better pink noise track that also reveals arm irregularities.
For both V1 and V2:The VTF track do not really give me any extra information, and the anti skating track is too low in level do be useful, the arm-cartridge resonance test for lateral is OK , but the vertical resonance track does not give any useful respons- I tried 4 cartridges and 3 TT. Vertical resonance I need to do with other records and software.
What AM gives me is a convenient way to check the setup, but I can do everything AM does except Zenith by using Ortofon+ Ultimate test record+ HifiNews record and my PC and REW or another software for recording.
