Bose acquired McIntosh and Sonus Faber

You tube is fine .
You just have to look for good recordings. But thats also the case for CD s Tape an Lps .
Spending a lot of €€ on source material doesnt guarantee good SQ either
So your current system can accurately reproduce the sound of this pipe organ from a live performance right? The attached vid is just a recording and falls very short of the sound of actually being there.

I have organ on CD of the Church in Arnhem.
Which i have attenderen myself to compare .
Mine do pretty good
I've many high quality records, tapes, and CD/SACD's of pipe organ, including the recording above from Zimmermann. Xaver Varnus is another exceptional performer from Hungary.

And yes, quality recordings make all the difference.

Yes. My day job is a partner at a PE firm.
I know. Let’s just say there’s PE and there’s PE and leave it at that.

You must have a massive imagination to believe your small system can reproduce cathedral sound of a large pipe organ..

:)

Its small Bro , volumetric size not mass which is whats really required to move air like a real pipe organ not to mention a lot more than your favorite little CAT amps will pump out for realistic levels ..! :)

Not saying you don't have bass or cant make a realistic scaled reproduction , just saying its nothing like a real cathedral ..

Whats next racing Bugatti's with your Beemer ...

Its because you sit a lot closer to the speakers .
My speakers dont have to fill a church volume.
And believe me i have owned krell evo 400 monos Mark levinson Boulder 1060 the CAT can pump out bass like no other.

Sticking to the topic luckily there are great boutique brands still to be found .
And because they dont have enourmous advertizing budgets its essential audiophiles go hear them in person at shows.
Make up your own mind so to speak

Bose really bought and wanted McIntosh IMO, interesting to see how they unload the rest ..!

As to the CAT pumping out all that bass , errr , gonna pause on that a bit ..! :)

I have to correct my statement .
The only one that was may be better was the Avant garde G3 basshorn or FM acoustics full system
That system can produce phenomenal bass.

Fm acoustics is a prime example of a boutique shop miles above the " pleasing MC intosh SF sound ."
Those brands " voice to sell " imo
I like FM Acoustics but these components sound best in a all FM Acoustics system.
Add a your favorite brand of digital playback and turntable/tape deck and you're all set with a world class reference setup.

In addition to this I’ll add (as a retired PE partner) there are also other issues at play. These can include the age of the fund and/or a tactical desire to return funds to shareholders (especially true when preparing to market a new fund).
I worked at a PE that sold Ducati to Audi to buy Burger King and Timmy Hortons…..strange world PE can be.

Thats it
PE managers work for investors and what do they want .... more dividends / captal gains to buy ferraris and real estate .
They dont care if the money comes from selling ammunition DVD s toilets computers or hamburgers.

And if the managers dont deliver .... well there is the door dont forget to close it on your way out
