Always listen to your dad. He knows best!It is whether we choose to be like Icarus or more like Daedalus, flying lower and avoiding unnecessary risk is historically more likely the best policy. Just depends on how much you’re willing to risk.

My mum and dad would have insisted on 40 ciggies a day and a liberal dose of Polish vodka.Always listen to your dad. He knows best!
Where did you get that idea? AFAICT, "herd immunity" was first described in the scientific literature as relating to human illness.

Not saying you are wrong, but it appears to be an unsubstantiated opinion.
It’s not too surprising Elliot considering the jurisdictional power traditionally given to States and even counties within the states. I remember being in disbelief that the rabies policy would be different and inconsistent between counties within a state, let alone between states. Diseases don’t follow administrative boundaries! Europe is waking up to this now albeit a bit late!It seems to me that here in the US its all being done ad/hoc or actually half/assed. Some things are closed and others not depending on what city or state you live in. Here in Florida they closed some of the beaches and put some regulations on the restaurants and bars but this is only in selected areas.I don't understand how this can be effective .
You can't take a walk on the Beach but you can go to a gym or even a strip club! They cancelled some poker tournaments at the casino's but the casino and poker rooms are open. This IMO is stupid PeriodIt’s not too surprising Elliot considering the jurisdictional power traditionally given to States and even counties within the states. I agree with you in the general aspect, but in this specific case is disgusting...there's not even a paper with the "cough on your elbow" message, no masks allowed, no gloves allowed, not even gel or alcohol to disinfect your hands. Distance from your coworker: 50-70cm, as always. No possiblity of working from home, when it's perfectly doable in this case. Is like they want you to get the virus too.
The worst of all is that I can only be thankful for how lucky I've been, and find solace in "things could have gone much worse for me", and be at home without being able to do anything about it. Once the first person there is infected (which I hope doesn't happen, but at this rate it is going happen sooner than later), I'm sure this goes to court, but that's the sad thing...having to wait for someone to suffer instead of being cautious from the beginning.
You have my sympathy at this lack of consideration by your employer and government. I could only suggest that you do your best to protect yourself if indeed you venture back to work after 2 weeks. If you’re fit and healthy may be sleep at work to avoid infecting family members until your own infection is over. Then have a long long shower with a change of new clothes, go into the hills for a few days before going home. It has become that easy to spread unfortunately.
Some good news from Greece, it looks like that the drastic measures are working. the today new infections numbers have declined from 108 yesterday to 21 today!!! Let’s hope for the best for all the world
Way to go ...

By Summer everything should be back to normal...Summer 2021.
The guy who loves the stock markets is reading that plus the Dow down 10% within the first minute of the NYSE's opening belt this morning and an emergency halt to stop the bloodbath and I bet his teeth must be falling by themselves or he's pulling them out ...
We can't afford those bean counters either.
So, Boris may deny it now because it sounds like social darwinism, but herd immunity must be the plan. This can be the only reason why we're the outlier on: no social distancing, no schools shut, and no health workers screening.
What a judgement call.
It's interesting how "herd immunity" is being employed as it is a term that originated in veterinary medicine and now we are treating people like animals...

People are no more important than animals, often time less important.
