Diesis dipole

It's a tough one to comment on as I could live happily with either of them. They are very different sounding speakers of course. The bass especially is SO different in the Diesis OB speakers vs. the A5/sealed cabinet. Both speakers sound VERY OPEN.

The A5's are $25K and the CM's are $60K (retail). There would be those that would take the A5's over the CM, but then some would take the CMs over the A5s. The fact that the A5 is $25K competes with the $60K CM is saying something about the A5s value.

I love the Diesis speakers for all kinds of reasons. BUT I routinely tell people that the A5's compete with any other speakers that I have in my possession. It comes down to personal preference, but the A5s for me are a real over achiever.
Thanks for your reply, I will listen to Diesis within july and see if I will prefer it to A5.

Let's all return to discussing Diesis here, please.

Will be curious as to your impressions after your audition!

We have just ordered our first two demo units: an Aura and Caput Mundi pair. Should be with us in late September. Exciting times!

Cheers,

Guillaume
Congrats! Great choices!!!

Excellent! You can share with UK folks the magic of Giuseppe @Diesis.

My own pair of Roma are en route. I am hoping for delivery in the next couple of weeks.

I don't understand. There is no cover on the Romas.

Just the flat black finish.

After a long term loan, initially intended for review purposes, I decided I could not part from the Aura Special Edition.

The way these speakers fill the room, wall to wall, floor to ceiling, with sound, yet retaining solid imaging and instruments layering / separation prowess is what won me out, combined with a naturally even tonality that suits acoustic music especially well.

Beautiful room! Can you describe the items in the corners with curved surfaces? Are they perhaps combination bass traps/diffusors?

Thanks!

These are Vicoustic VicTotem. They can be configured as diffusers and / or absorbers and, when placed in the corners, act as bass traps. In my case I have two modules oriented as diffusers and one absorber, per unit. Clever devices indeed!

Beautiful system Simone!
I've also read your thorough and interesting review.
I'm glad you finally settled down with you speakers system. As always, you've optimized it to your likings as well as aesthetically - lovely!

You mention a slight lack of low-bass impact, do you use a subwoofer, or are you intending to use one?

Thank you, Itamar!

Indeed, I am using a sub as the Aura - similarly to most OB desings - can't go down to 20Hz (I measured about 45Hz -6dB in my room, which aligns with the Diesis spec sheet).

For now, a very basic one (XTZ 12.17 Edge) will do, but I plan to go to a good stereo pair sometime in the future.
