Good mid-price audiophile switches

That’s interesting to hear your findings. 2 people on another forum using the ER with JS-2 power supply prefer the LHY SW6 and AS6.

early impressions of LHY and optical setups were definitely mixed. But it seems like there’s been some evolution in their newer models. I believe Alvin Chee (Vinshine) has been involved with LHY for a while, but a notable shift happened when Vinshine officially ended its distribution of Denafrips in July 2024. That change may have allowed more focus on other partner brands like LHY Audio.

With increased attention and resources, it’s possible the newer LHY models have benefited in both development and exposure—leading to the more positive feedback I’ve seen outside this forum. I haven’t tried one myself yet, but it makes me curious if earlier impressions still hold with the latest gear.

Hi @MattSPL ,
Not sure if you're referring to this thread, but interestingly, several users have been replacing their current switches (like a well clocked eR + JS-2 ) with the LHY AS-6 (or its predecessor)—one after another—with no need for additional clocking. It definitely caught my attention, and I might give it a try myself eventually. As a bonus, both are also definitely mid-priced. :)

Note that he's using an Amphenol DAC cable from the switch to his streamer instead of a best quality ’last’ Ethernet cable (with the shield grounded only on the switch side).
