My son was heavy into track soccer when this cartridge was released new. Found it on EBay this summer for Pennie’s on the dollar of what it cost new in 2009…..3K. Had Joseph Long install a titanium cantilever with the lightest MR made today. Tradeoffs you know? I was thinking I’d trade a longer line for less weight, lighter mass. We shall see if I made the right decision in a few days. Any of you guys here have any experience with this old cart from years ago?

I have a Statement3, but I don't know if it anything like the original.

The 3 was fitted with a boron cantilever instead of aluminum and another .5Mv of output. 1Mv out seems to be where John settled for his low output carts. I thought about boron but Joseph had one titanium cantilever left and none are being offered at this time by any stylus maker so I splurged. The original Statement was the first Grado offered with gold wire coils. Not that it sounds any better from what I’ve read, I think it’s more a selling point than anything.

Arrived Saturday but it’s waiting in the wings. I also had Joseph retip an MCZv stylus with a boron cantilever and same Namiki MR. It is so good I was shocked. Still listening, it may be a week or so on the Master:)
