haha, but it's really not about the color... :D

true that......it was not about the color. sure; there were colors I was not going to choose......red, black, dark blue, coco or any sort of brown, yellow. and it seems half of all 911's for sale are black. I wanted a lighter neutral color such as silver, grey metallic, white, light blue metallic.

within the color range my wife and I set I was looking for specific equipment, mileage, condition, and a value purchase. but a particular color was not the priority.

i do like white for sure; but likely both my wife and i prefer silver (either Rhodium or GT). now that we have a white one i do like certain aspects of a white car too. one of those is that there is no $2500 upcharge for the color. so at the same MSRP you get more value somewhere, such as sport exhaust or other nice feature. that was more the priority.....the right equipment.

Beautiful ride Mike,....that is one sweet looking vehicle; you made one hell of a great choice! I've always had a sweet spot for the 928 S4 for some reason visually....enjoy the new car!!!

thanks.

the 928 S4 was a nice car which had a certain cohesiveness to it's look. my son had a 944 Turbo which he rebuilt the engine on in my garage one summer back 16 years ago. he put some 'go-fast' parts in it and it was very fast. I was not that big a fan of the 944 look compared to the 928.

there are many choices these days to scratch the 'cool car' itch. it's a golden era for the car enthusiast, if many times pretty spendy.

I see the Carrera S as a sweet spot of beauty, class, and performance......big enough inside to be a GT......small and nimble enough to be a sports car or even credible track-able car.......with best in class quality and serviceability. and it is still a precision type car and not just a big brute......not that there is any damn thing wrong with a big brute if that is what floats your boat. I will say the 4 second 0-60 mph and 400 HP were on my checklist.

heck; my 16' Accord demo has 290 HP, does a 5.7 0-60 mph and 160mph + top speed. these days those numbers don't mean much.

YVW....enjoy the new ride! There certainly are many new ways to scratch that itch these days. From an entirely different camp now comes (back to the US) the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio as well at 505hp, 443 ft-lb torgue (2500-5500rpm) in a heart-stopping body style (IMHO) that could be the next thing to obsess over here besides my next speaker purchase . Have a great weekend everyone and enjoy!

The pano roof looks stunning with the white paint Mike. Congratulations!

I'm pretty sure you meant 0-62mph and not quarter mile though ;)
