and it was yellow
If I was in your shoes I might get the motor rebuilt with a turbo, it's way too slow stock especially compared to today's cars... my WRX does 0-60 in the low 4 sec range with minor mods... but it looks great and I'm sure it's a blast to drive despite the lack of power.
If I was looking at a new sports car that isn't crazy expensive it would be new Vette, they are amazing cars. I drove a previous model Z06 Vette and it was the most fun to drive of anything I've ever been in, made my modded WRX seem like the economy car it is...

That's quite a big job if you are going to do it properly, as you are changing a high compression na engine into a low compression forced induction one. so you would need to change pistons and do a full engine rebuild, which requires more specialist attention than simply going down the bolt on route
I know, I used to own a welding and auto shop before I got my engineering degree...
Then I'm most pleased to meet you, dave ?
You could be in the position to enlighten me if you wish, as i would love to ask someone with your knowledge and experience why it is that stateside tuners don't seem to be able to persuade your customers of the wisdom of doing engine internals as well as bolt ons?
As soon as you mention tuning all sorts of sensible folk pipe up to share the wisdom of experience gained from engines going bang
Money... as you mentioned adding a turbo is best done combined with a full rebuild, which is much more expensive. Generally, you're better off buying a car closest to what you want rather than doing major mods anyway. I only mentioned turboing the S2000 because Mike can't drive anything but a Honda to work. The S2000 is pretty slow for a sports car... I'm sure it's fun to drive but it needs more power imo, it's not much faster than many average family/economy cars these days.
That's fascinating. ..from this side of the pond your tuning scene looks so much bigger than ours and relatively awash with money, so I guess US customers must demand more bang for their buck, but with less concern about longevity? perhaps it is down to cars generally being a lot cheaper than over here, or maybe the popularity of drag racing?
You modded the heck out of that S2000, eh?
My dad has an awesome set of tools we can fix anything.
Who said that? And what movie?
No Googling
Does it come in other colors, beside white pearl (very nice)?
mine is not brand new; but it is a 16'. I liked the idea of the 16' being a non-turbo......and no, I've not driven a new twin-turbo 17'. but I'm far from any sort of knowledgeable person.
I did have a few colors on my 'acceptable' list......I wanted a neutral color of some sort.....silver, grey (light metallic) or white. I like a clean, simple, look......and my wife nixed any thought of red or yellow......both of which I might have liked. but I was more interested in the equipment list and condition than color or cosmetic add-on's.
you can essentially have this model made in any color you might want.....but you will pay for that privilege.
