iFi audio ZEN Stream - The Official Thread

@AMR / iFi audio Cheers,
I own an ifi zen stream for bit now. Overall I am happy, mainly using it for tidal connect and the sound is excellent.
But since my internet connection is limited, I also started to build a local lib mainly with flac files.

My problem is that only some files are found while others aren't. Here is what I can observe:
* directories and files are found completely
* directory is found, but not containing all files but only 1..2 instead of 10
* directory is missing completely

I could try to dump the directory structure if this helps you.

I suggest you communicate directly to Ifi audio.

it would appear the new WBF rep is noy as ubiquitous as the previous one. I will continue to protect tithe names. It must be some kind of corporate policy.
If you are unable to resolve your problem with customer service, contact me via pm, I will try to help.

I have an ifi zen streamer, I did a reset with the back button and didn't wait for the red light to come on. Now I can't get it to start, help, what can I do?

Yes and it doesn't do anything, it stays with the little light on the left on, but nothing else.
I assume you will need to refresh the firmware. IFi provides firmware downloads for some of their products but I don't see one for the Zen Stream. Looks like you will need to contact their support team. They were very prompt to respond when I needed help.

I’ve been watching this thread. I don’t have a Zen Streamer, but I have a friend who owns one. He purchased it as a temporary streamer until he could upgrade to higher end product. Through component upgrades his system has evolved in both expense and sophistication into a pretty high resolution presentation. Surprisingly, the one component that has not changed is his Zen Streamer. He had given thought to purchasing a higher end streamer, but instead, he has seriously upgraded the performance of his Zen Streamer by continually surrounding it with new enhancements. He has following items on or connected to the Zen:

Synergistic Research UEF power supply w/ master fuse

Synergistic Research Euphoria, SX power cord

Synergistic Research Galileo SX USB cable.

ViaBlue ethernet cable Soon to be upgraded

Symposium Svelte Plus shelf

Network Acoustics Muon Pro ethernet filter

Shakti Stone on power supply

This is over $13,000 of peripheral enhancements to a $400 streamer. Each item lifted the sound quality up another obvious level. For us, this has become, kind of an audio comedy. I always rib him about his $13,400 streamer. We keep wondering when the enhancements and changes will plateau and the little Zen will quit revealing the improvements, but this little guy just keeps scaling up with whatever new item he connects to it. His Zen, with its surrounding enhancements now completes with his high end turntable, cartridge, tone arm and phono section. Crazy.

Saludos.
