lamm m2.2

The piano is so dynamic colourful and the string resonances so real especially the bass notes
The power of the M2.2 no clipping
The combo of lamm and morel is very convincing
My guess is big Wilson would also be good :)

Lamm and the big Wilson speakers is a match made in heaven IMHO

Hi Bonzo75

Yes upsampled vinyl can be better than SACD noise aside depending on recording
In fact I sometime find it hard to believe how good it is either with esoteric or bakoon phono with slight edge to bakoon maybe ?

Did you demo the Thoress?

Hi Bonzo

No I haven't but have heard very good things about it from people I respect

Andrew

Can you please explain how you connect the TT to your upsampling phono (accuphase?) Can this set up be used for 2 Ch and MCH, or do you have different electronics for each? Yours is one of the most fascinating set ups I have come across.

Sorry I meant upmix, not upsample. I.e. Upmix 2-ch vinyl to Multi

Hi Everyone

just an update

I have reorganised the room
Sounds good

Have had to reprogram the frequency adjustments

I have now reevaluated the Golden Lion 6922 versus 6n23EB I have

The 6N23 EBs IMHO are superior

They are more dynamic, quieter, and better top end and depth and ambience

Timbral balance at least in my system is truer

Bass is ....explosive and so fast on drums,
I have ordered some older stock 6n23 for comparison...these are from 1999

They also have less gain i think? than the golden lions

Will keep u posted

I have left the tops off the lamm m2.2s so I can do some tube swapping over the coming months

:)

Thank you

I know u mean well :)

I have been tube rolling for 15 years and own nearly all the 6922 including amperex 7308 Millard Telefunken etc at some stage

I am new to 6n23 s though...
My reason for writing is not that I have discovered tube rolling but to bring my collection of 6922 and equivalent specifically to the question of lamm m series
As u mentioned I have 6n23 EBs Circa1999
I have on order Voskhod 6n23P and Reflektor 6n23

Will let my findings known ...,

finally , im' LAMMED...... as in the silence of the lamms..... received a pair of m2.2s and the new l2.1 preamp to drive the TAD REF1S...... less the 24 hours of burn in , and this folks, is a match made in heaven..... now i'm considering adding the LL1.1 and 2 m1.2 to biamp the TADS.... these spkrs sure can use power and control, and the m2.2 do so in spades....really, amazing sound!

Ozy,
Order a pair of NOS Amperex 7308 from Upscale Audio and you will be amazed in the improvement of the sound of your M2.2's. More romance, bigger soundstage.....

Congratulations and welcome to the club Ozy :) It seems there is a wide consensus on Amperex for M2.2s :D
