So while Mike was making the uber Lamm upgrade, I was making a more modest move in the Lamm stable.....the Lamm ML1.1. I have to say I'm extremely pleased with the pairing of the tube mono's with my JBL speakers. My wife who is tolerant but extremely skeptical of my hobby, stayed in the room and listened to records for the first time in 5 years. We listened to her favorites (Sade, Edie Brickell and Bjork) and she said it's the best she's ever heard my system. The music is tactile, you can actually feel the musicians in the room.
Love it!
Guess I am going to have to make a Southern California tour soon,
Steves place again.
Alma
Phillips place
Jeffs
and maaaaayyybbbeee some day Rons place...
Custom speakers by PBN Audio based around the new M2 dual diaphragm compression driver and computer designed wave guide. Check out my system, I've posted about them there.
I see BJC cables. Replace those with something better... I'm not saying spend high $, I'm saying they sound dead inside. ZenWave's are really good for real nice prices. If you can solder you can make a better pair for almost nothing. Anything but BJC... The connectors also EAT the plating off of whatever they're on.

Yep. Thank you. I checked out your system, then edited my post when I learned what they were. Wonderful collaboration between you and PBN. I like your creation better than PBN’s version. Nicely done!

I'm using the Belden 8402/Switchcraft cables in the system but I had to make up another pair for the Lamms as they have the input on the side. The BJC cables are placeholders. I sold $10,000 worth of cable after hearing the Belden 8402/Switchcraft cables, I'll never get bamboozled again.

A pal hooked me up with those Orange and Black speaker wires a few years back. Cost him peanuts to assemble. He told me then about the Shindo connection.

Congrats! Lamm is one of those with less exposure here (that I am aware of)...and i was very close to getting blind simply based on their remarkable reputation, the strong recommendation of a number of people whom I trusted...but in the end I could not go blind. I am very happy to have gone with Gryphon, but nevertheless would love to hear Lamm someday...there certainly is a distinct population of very, very happy Lamm/Wilson owners out there!
