Haha yup I have some jtune models if ppl interested. That's the limited edition with much higher grounding capacityMy grounding box recommended by Pasmod3 arrives this week. I will let you you know what happens when it gets here

I've had the Valvo AZ1 (RGN 1004) and the RGN 2004. Both are gone now but the countdown started lower with both. It also starts lower with the Cossor 53KU (5v) so I have no idea why it does what it does. The good news is that I don't think there are any sonic consequences to a delayed countdown sequence. It seems to be a idiosyncracy of no consequence.Sorry. I have the 1004 Same as Steve, i tried many recti and all started at 30 except these two

I was looking at the info I could find online about that box, and it seems it uses alternating layers of dissimilar metals internally. Does anyone know if the designer did anything to avoid galvanic action on those plates?I have installed the small grounding box for the recti adapator. I used the box @plasmod3 recommended. I found a used one online for cheap. It has a very nice effect. It Was not dramatic, more of a refinement. However, i listened to teh same track with it on and off, then attached the grounding wire to the chassis ground on my Shunyata Everest. The little box was the best of the three. All 3 were noticeably different, but not vast. It does what this adaptor does or adds a little more of what this adaptor is doing. If you like the adaptor, you will like the grounding as well. I had a local electrician replace one end of the grounding cable it came with for an alligator clip and just clipped that onto the grounding wire coming from the adaptor.
The kojo ground box is quite something indeed simple but effective and cheap!!! I use them everywhere haha it's easy when you are the distributorI was looking at the info I could find online about that box, and it seems it uses alternating layers of dissimilar metals internally. It seems to me* that could or perhaps even would decrease its effect over time, unless there's something done to block galvanic activity.
* I'm not an engineer. I'm not a scientist. I didn't sleep at a Holiday Inn Express last night, and in fact I'm a bit sleep deprived today. I could be TOTALLY INCORRECT in my ramblings above.
Wow... A treasure trove for sure.Biggest collection of 2504s on the planet? Maybe.... 12 right here and I think I have another one or two in some boxes too
Man, I'd love to have one of those! Maybe one day...Biggest collection of 2504s on the planet? Maybe.... 12 right here and I think I have another one or two in some boxes too
its quite simple - when a good opportunity comes up just buy the tube haha it's expensive at the time....almost always is but then having a chance is better than none later on down the track I am never a lucky man to get tubes cheap unfortunately and i know many ppl who feel the same way tooI recently bought a Valvo G2004 in sealed box for just eur100. It’s solid plate but ST shape and sounds very good.
Ian has clearly built up some great contacts to procure these rare tubes in such quantities, as they are not something you can just pick up from a quick google.
The Italians seem to have sole ownership of the majority of these tubesThat is quite the trove indeed. BTW: my tube dealer from Verona, Marcos, also has a contact with two Valvo NOS/NIB RGN2504. One box has never been open. But the pricing is stratospheric (1500 Euros/tube). Ian's pricing will likely be more competitive. The quality of Ian's stash looks just as impressive.
To follow up on my earlier post, both the adapters and e83f tubes have now arrived and I fired them up this morning in place of the RFT 6sn7. I am using some @1960 Valvos with disc getters and the initial impression is of a highly articulate and neutral presentation. Is early days given both valves and adapters are new and need some burn in, however stylistically they are more like sylvania metal plate than rca / mullard and I think will be better matched with a solid plate rectifier than the mesh Valvo I am presently using.I mentioned e83f last week and Xulingmrs has just created a bespoke adapter for those wishing to experiment with this mesh plate telephony tube. I have put my order in but will be away on vacation later this month.

The quest for the best sound seldom stopsAlways great to hear about companies standing by the products and offering good service! A dealer like that can be rare.
In the proverbial “Every time I get out, they pull me back in!” I ordered a 2504 rectifier for an outrageous sum Gotta love Ian! I will let you guys know my findings when it gets here. I also got the new sheath. I am thinking of having my buddy copy it in dense wood, which will look nice and hopefully not be resonant…
