Can you provide pics of the internal structure of the ST tube and the globe RCAs? I'm interested in how the compare to the Naitional Union 12A ST-shaped and Cunningham CX-112A Globes.

Thanks a lot. I'll post pictures of the Cunningham soon. It's slightly different from the RCA, which is disappointing.

Thanks a lot for taking the time. Much appreciated.

I have a pair of RK KR Audio PX-25s 2018 special edition that I am going to sell. They have fewer than 10 hours on them. I have too many DHTs and these aren’t in my top 3.

Contact me via PM if you are interested. I’d like to net $750 after shipping and fees.

Here are pics of the Cunningham CX-112A Globes. They are similar to the RCA globes except the structure at the top of the tube and they do not have a top mica.

Here are pics of the National Union 12A. Looks identical to Goran's RCA ST but with a round mica at the top, and rectangular holes in the side of the plates vs round holes.

I'm loving the box art for these ancient tubes:

Just beautiful!!!

There was a big lawsuit between Cunningham and RCA which meant RCA actually ended up making a lot of the tubes sold as Cunningham. It was an unfair judgement against RCA so I am led to believe.

Yeah, I bought the Cunninghams expecting that they would be identical to the RCAs. For all I know, they may sound better.

Globes usually don't have mica and some theorize that helps in sound.

Probably renders them more fragile as well. One of my pair crackled, glowed brightly and died right when I turned on the DAC. I will be getting a replacement today. Knock on wood.

My replacement Cunningham single arrived and it's identical to the RCA posted by @Gollum. An interesting twist, which means I now have two working Cunninghams, which are sightly different. I haven't had a chance to really listen to them since I'm out of town for the weekend.

I've ordered a pair of RCA 201As as well as an intriguing Northern (Western) Electric DX-235, which is supposedly Western Electric's attempt at a 112/201A and advertised by them to be less microphonic than what the 201A and 112A variants were at the time.

I listened to a pair of RCA 71A globes yesterday. They have a similar sound signature to the 112As but not as musical. Thus, the 112As go back in the Pacific.

Comments on KR242 Vs RK242 versions using the GG1 , resting on Shunmook Giants... Powered with a Stage3 Concepts Leviathan PC , fed from a TAD D600 as transport. Recti used : RK5u4g
Those familiar with the performance envelope of the KR242 may want to shift their goalposts as to what is possible with the RK242 . Significantly raises the bar and is a superior tube in every parameter . The heroic build and better QC seems to promote in the RK242 a more current rich ,tonally pure sound with a significantly more varied tonal palette . Headroom limitless, Gargantuan drive cloaked with a velvet glove. No slowing of tempo and flow due to its superior density and image weight , much much better 3 dimensionality to image and stage. Superlatives all !!! yes ...but is just the case... Going back to the the KR242 ( never thought would be saying this) seems almost anemic in nature and greyed out in its hues. If the 242 works in your system, hard to imagine any other tube coming even close. Regular KR242 users should definitely investigate. Thanks for reading.

Lol. I went back on eBay to buy that pair and realized it was gone. Glad it went to you. Keep us posted.

If they sound better than the RCA 101A, we're in for a treat.
