Magico Ultimate 3

I hope that center long crate is the "claims adjuster". Claims adjusters need to experience what our equipment goes through.
zz.
P.S. I am currently waiting on a claim - very nasty.

When speaking of claims adjustor, are you talking auto, home, or audio gear?

In this instance I am speaking of claims adjusters involved with the freight shipping companies & moving companies handling my audio gear.

Stolen: entire Vinyl collection when moving from Austin to Bellevue, WA - heavily insured & was required to be packed by the moving company itself - CLAIM DENIED.

Krell amplifier destroyed by moving company - CLAIM DENIED.

etc. etc. etc.

zz.

How could they escape liability in both of the cases you cited? If you had proof the shipping company packed your LPs and loaded them up and they never delivered them, that's a slam dunk.

I had photos of the collection - meant nothing.
Fine Print: everything had to be unpacked while the movers were there & notated that the items were missing. Try unpacking a whole house while the movers run in & out & instantly leave.
A lawyer will charge you many hundreds per hour to take the LOSER case & just pass paper back & forth while your billing will run past many thousands $$$.
Live & learn.
Life sucks & then you die.
etc.
zz.

I guess I would have gone and checked my cherished items while the movers were there and left the wife with the pots and pans.

Sorry to hear that. A good lesson for all of us to watch out for that one. We will make sure to do a complete inventory and check off every item before they go even if we have to pay a several extra hours of work for them to unpack and then for us to do the inventory check line item by line item. We did do this in the past, and we were paranoid...but now even more paranoid!! Whew.

It is not paranoia - it is properly watching over the golden eggs.

Freight companies in the past:
$100,000+ machine pushed into >>>free-fall<<< off a loading dock = totaled [company replaced machine]
$100,000+ machine in excellent crate Stabbed to death with forklift tines -through the sides [took a long time, but got the $$$].
$50,000 machine in excellent crate Stabbed to death with forklift tines -through the bottom [took a long time, but got the $$$ by going to court].
I cannot remember all of the disasters.

My last heavy expensive monoblocks; I drove 4 days total to pick them up.

Best to mep & LL21,
zz.

Sorry to hear that zz. I drove from Boston to Chicago to pick up my speakers. I remember my dad driving his wine collection from Chicago to Boston when I was a kid just to be sure everything arrived safely.

Regarding all of those Magico crates, I trust that Magico had a continuous chain of custody until delivery and then that the dealer unpacked and inspected everything before setting up the speakers. That now deleted thread about the Q7 was a nightmare.

We can all learn valuable lessons from such stories.

The last image of the rear module/crossover is very revealing and different than I have seen previously. Two high current AC inputs per module where there has been one in the past. Also, it appears that "only" two channels of external amplification will be needed, from the two pairs of Mundorf binding posts on the input side. It will be interesting to learn the details of this setup, in an academic way for me, unfortunately:).

Probably for most of us :)

external amplification: I think it will be a 5 ways (4 horns + a super tweeter) + the 15" with its integrated amp.... so we are talking about a total of 12 channels of amplification....

Those are the best photos of the Ultimate I have ever seen.

Could I get a reminder on the price tag, please.
