New Album & The Beginning of Basketball Season

Finally...Nets tell Kyrie to play or stay away

Also finally, Ben Simmons caves in and shows up at 76ers facilities

Good to see the NBA and the teams stand their ground.

The bottom line is the team holds all the cards and will withhold monies based on violation of contract.

Simmons returns because he is finally smartening up to the fact that he just might not be as good as he thinks and there is a lot of money he's left on the table while he sits demanding a trade. He just bought a mansion here is California. The good thing I would hope is he returns not only to play but so also to the high standard to which he has previously played and all is forgotten

Kyrie however marches to the beat of a different drum and I don't think he cares about the money. I thought he cared about the ring in drafting KD but clearly the peyote has gotten to his brain

Violation of Contract. That's the key. Silver should be more 'stern'. No pun intended. The players and even their agents are walking around him and we don't want to see more of those.

Lakers Trio came up dead last night. Only AD showed some signs of greatness.LeBron and Westbrook looked terrible. Westbrook was missing everything and James was committing too many turnovers with errant passes

The only thing I am seeing positive is the strong effect of the Lakers bigs under the net at both ends of the court. I also thought Carmelo was the only one playing half decent

So lakers twice had double digit leads only to run out of legs and were overcome by the Warriors bench and lose to go 0-5 in the preseason.

This Lakers team has the promise of glitz but all I am seeing is a bunch of old men trying to keep up. On paper they get the accolades but on the court they are drawing the boos. Lakers play a strong first half but then folded in the 2nd half

good thing Philadelphia is the city of brotherly love..........

Ben Simmons back in Philadelphia, may practice later this week

Doc Rivers and the 76ers are working with Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul to find a resolution for the All-Star guard to rejoin the team.

and this pretty much sums up the Lakers big 3.........

Lakers' new star trio could be unstoppable ... or combustable

How well LeBron James, Russell Westbrook and Anthony Davis gel will likely determine the Lakers' championship chances in 2021-22.

James, Davis and Westbrook could very well become the engine that fuels the Lakers’ championship in the second time in three seasons. Yet, they could very well become the engine that stalls at the worst opportune time.

................................................

The weaknesses?

James (six turnovers) and Westbrook (five) offered plenty of miscues, partly fueled by their frenetic play and partly fueled by their collective unfamiliarity. Westbrook forced passes into the post and from crosscourt. Westbrook and James also lost the ball after driving inside.

Westbrook did not even score until midway through the second quarter. Following the Lakers’ double-digit run to open the second half, the Warriors went on a 21-3 tear with all three of those stars on the floor.

Off topic, but did anyone else watch the Dodgers-Giants game tonight?

I'm not a big baseball fan these days but this was quite a game.

Dodgers won 2-1 but the game ended on a call of a checked swing as a strike. It was not a swing and it wasn't close. The first base umpire made a really bad call.

Too bad the game that sent the Dodgers to the NL championship series (World Series-sorry, my error) ended like that.

Oh and how about those Clippers to get back on topic.

Was watching the game a bit then I had to go out. Giants stranded few in a couple of innings. Was rooting for them as I've actually watched a game in that park a few years ago. Too bad it ended with a bum call. I'm a Red Sox fan mostly and they face the Astros tomorrow.

well the preseason for the Lakers proved to me that they are not the juggernaut of has beens brought together to win a ring for the aging LeBron James. Lakers as always started the game strong last night against the Kings only to lose at the end in spite of Le Bron's 30 points. The Lakers can certainly provide some energy and excitement but in the end their aging legs begin to fail them in the second half. Well at least they had a perfect preseason as they go 0-6

Mike as to how about those Clippers. IIRC they did win their first preseason game

The league is a much different place now. This Lakers club reminds me of the time they brought in Dwight Howard and Steve Nash. All the pundits had them as the shoe in winners of the trophy that year. Boy were they wrong as the team imploded. I feel the same destiny lies ahead for this Lakers team. No matter how you parse it, youth and speed is what is going to destroy the Lakers this year

Who knew......there's 3 of them..........

LiAngelo Ball waived by Charlotte Hornets, reportedly headed for G League

Ball played five games with the Hornets at NBA Summer League in Las Vegas this summer.

Time will tell. I expect the Lakers will get it together at some point....not that I want them to do well at the expense of the Clippers. ;)

I expect there to be flashes of greatness but I don’t expect them to sustain it for 82 games assuming they all remain healthy they just don’t have the legs to keep up
