One (1) Most Important Live Concert You Wish You Had Seen?

If you had to name only one (1) live concert that you could have gone to see anywhere, anytime but did not, what would it have been? (No list . . . No honorable mentions . . . Only one.)

This topic comes to us courtesy of Marty.

Great question, Ron.

There is only one I regret missing: Above & Beyond when they did their Acoustic tour (which was them with an orchestra).

Their concert video of Live at the Hollywood Bowl is EPIC and I actually use a song from that as one of my reference review songs.

It's incredible to know the normal versions of their songs and to see how they completely changed them, yet remained true to the songs at the same time for that tour.

Woodstock my brother & a couple of friends went I decided to go to National Speedway Drag racing instead

Pink Floyd - The Division Bell Tour. I was in high school, could have been there but didn't want to deal with the heavy rain.
Alice In Chains - Never got to see them with Layne Staley

Horowitz "An Historic Return" to Carnegie Hall, 1965. This was Horowitz's first concert after stopping performing in 1953. Recorded by Columbia on an album of the same name. I was in college in Boston at the time. I wish I had made the extraordinary effort to get tickets and go down to NYC.

1980 in Jamaica with my ex-wife. Bob Marley was playing in Kingston. The hotel staff suggested we not go, as there were reports of hostile behavior by the locals. Ended being one of his last concerts.
PJ Harvey scheduled to play a small venue in Chicago. Drove from Milwaukee…got two speeding tickets, arriving nearly 40 minutes late , only to find the concert rescheduled due to Ms. Harvey falling ill.

Nirvana touring Australia in February, 1992

I had tickets to see Nirvana at our local pub for February 8th.
They played in the city on Feb 7th.
Nevermind went back to #1 on the US album charts. .

Kurt said he had a sore throat, cancelled the gig I had tickets to and flew back to America.

Not happy :(

Not an important gig but couldn’t be bothered to see U2 at Jenk’s Bar, or was it the Gaeity, Blackpool in 1980. I did see The Buzzcocks there and we nearly ripped the place up.

Saw the Jimi Hendrix Experience with Noel Redding and Mitch Mitchell , opening act Cat Stevens at Stony Brook University in 1967
Elliot - was there a hifi store near Stony Brook - Audio Den? I bought a pair of LS3/5a's from the dealer (Sandy?) in 1975 before heading off to Berkeley.

Yes that was my store and Sandy was my partner for a few years. The store I believe still exists but it moved to another location.

Howard Shore and the "Lord of the Rings" soundtrack renditions, Oakland Coliseum. Can't remember the year.

Reboot of "Return to Forever" when it came around the Bay Area a few years ago when the lads were all still kicking (Chick Corea RIP).

The Heatwave Festival, August 1980, at Mosport Park Raceway. B52s, Talking Heads, Elvis Costello and more. I had only just turned 17 so I suspect the reason I didn’t go was a) ticket cost, and b) transportation logistics.
