Acoustic Sounds---room--Bluebell

this is Chad's room. and he has the media over all other. honestly I cannot recall about the gear other than the Stellavox RTR which evidently is no longer Charlie King's, it's now Chad's.

if there is a sexier piece of audio gear not sure what it might be. audio porn delux!!!!

he was playing tape, the Muddy Waters Folk Singer. pretty awesome sounding.

Verity--room--Primrose

this is a very large room. Verity speakers and Verity amplifier.

sound was good but the speakers were spread too wide in my opinion......no center image at all. I've heard many systems in that room before and the trick has been to bring the speakers closer together. i'm guessing it was a compromise between bass support and imaging.

speakers look super elegant.

Synergistic-Magico--Solution--room--5018

listened to half a track, not bad. then Ted Denny of Synergisitc turned off the A/C, closed the door and announced that there would be a 17 minute demo. oops. I got up and left before it started. I've heard this demo at least 3 times before. his stuff does things and can fix room issues. are the changes always better? don't know and don't own myself.

Nagra-Wilson--room 1030----part 2

earlier I posted about this room having too much bass, but it was early.

went back yesterday, and it was all better. sounding very very good.....balanced and lively. hard to know how much that new spendy Nagra pre was contributing, but no doubt it was helping. I would say that visually; the new pre is a step back and misses to magical visual vibe of Nagra. but tiny case work has it's sonic penalty.

tried to sit in the sweet spot but after 3 cuts the guy would not move. kept looking at his cell phone, and seemingly not really paying attention......but I decided to leave. sigh. just another excuse to post a picture of all this orgasmic Nagra gear. i'm an admitted Nagra lover. especially since I owned a Nagra T and the diminutive Nagra IV-S.

In order to provide a reference point, it would be very helpful if someone would post their estimate of the total cost of the gear in some of these rooms.

Thank you for the Excellent Photos and comments Mike--greatly appreciated by those of us unable to attend--

I noticed the Center Stage Footers Steve is enamoured with mentioned --they obviously are the feet to own--and deliver!--

I'm sure such a force as Steve and the Forum behind them they will go gangbusters with sales--Kudos indeed;)

Interesting to see the chosen Distribution name of PitchPerfect

I wonder if folks will confuse it with the LA Lot-- PitchPerfect Audio?

THANKS and Kudoes on the postings Mike,

Yeah the Cellovox (Stella with Cello electronics) is in Chad's corral now - much easier to "lug around" at shows. Have two more tho - one for me and one for some other "lucky person"!

BTW, regarding your TROY AUDIO pics and your very deserving comments on the sound of their wonderful new speaker; if you look closely at the ancillary equipment behind the speakers, you'll see a KC/tape preamplifier (with VU meter panel) in the same boxes as yours. Francisco, the owner bought one which I delivered to the show and was paired with a Sonorus PR-99. He also had the complete lineup of STS tapes, just arrived from the manufacturer, but we didn't have much/any time to evaluate them properly as phono seemed to hog airtime. One of the few I did get to hear sounded particularly good, a baritone Jazz Singer whose name I don't remember. The singer's voice especially the midrange resonance over Franciscio's speakers was absolutely THRILLING.

Pitch Perfect---room---Blanca Peak.

ok, you might ask......what is Pitch Perfect?

true story.

well, I was in this room twice, once Friday and once Saturday (with WBF member 'Alpinest'). it sounded quite good to my ears, in fact, it was doing some things which show systems don't normally do in terms of note development and naturalness that I hear in my own room. you have a mixture of Air Tight tubed monoblocks, Piega speakers, Solution Digital, and CMS racks. and the second day I noticed the banner over on the side for the Pitch Perfect footers. so after listening that second day I went over to the 'room guy' and asked him about how many of those footers were being used. he said they were under everything. I mentioned I had heard about these footers and that they typically take a week or so to gel, and what did he think about that? he said, well......I designed them and they are maybe working better since they are on my racks. I realized this was Joe L., the CMS guy. LOL!!! our own WBF member. so I introduced myself. he went and grabbed one of the Pitch Perfect footers for me to look at.

how can you walk into a room and relate what you hear to footers? you normally cannot; but something was afoot (pun intended) in this room.

The Soulution piece on the top shelf looks like the new 330 Integrated. Did you get a chance to hear it? I noticed that it was on mute on your picture.
Thanks

we were listening to digital at that time, so I assumed it was a phono stage.

but I don't know the Solution gear and did not ask.
