Ron …. 65 Watt Concero Signature and Signature LE are both two chassis mono amplifiers …. separate power and output stage … you do not have to extend to Exsequor level for this !

What does Exsequor achieve sonically over and above Concero?

Have you compared by any chance either of these to Trafomatic Elysium?

With room and distance loss that isn't even pushing over 16w.

I would think the ability to play around with amplifiers would be sort of exciting since there is a lot of things out there that won't break the bank but can deliver.

Unfortunately every one of the amplifiers on my radar single-handedly breaks the bank.

But aren't you talking RMS, rather than peak? Peak could be multiples of RMS.
You said your peak is 95dB. We can assume RMS is at least 10dB lower than that, no? Afterall, you listen mostly to rather heavily compressed music, correct? Did you mean 95dB average?? That is quite loud. I also listen with peaks around 95dB but my average is closer to 75dB.

I personally haven't heard the Exsequor...but the upper Concero models are pretty awesome sounding (actually the "basic" one chassis per side Concero is an "end game" amp).

I see. 95dB is peaks. Average would be 80dB to 85dB.

Ron, I doubt that there is anyone on the planet that has A/B’d an AC Exsequor directly with a Trafomatic Elysium in the same system.

I would highly recommend having a conversation with Stavros .

Thank you for the suggestion, but I do not want to waste Stavros' time. The only way I could afford any of these exotic amplifier candidates is heavily discounted on the used market.

That's why for a while I was pursuing seriously used Allnic A-10000s (1610 x 2, 100 watts, PSET) offered at 25% of MSRP.

I was in the main thinking along the lines that you might have a conversation with Stavros with regard to the mechanics behind how a 65W SET might drive your Pentragons Ron …

Ohhh. Well, I don't think that's an open question. Brad has experience with RD75 and is comfortable at 65 watts for all types of music. So is Jeremy.

An audiophile with probably the most experience with RD75 of anybody in the entire world reported a transcendent experience on solo vocals with 22 watts.

I'm comfortable that 50/60 watts will do the trick on simple vocals and simple jazz and simple classical. I'm very skeptical that 50/60 watts is sufficient for big rock and complex classical symphony orchestra music. That will have to be proven to me (and to Don and to the other members of our local audio group) in my own system on those kinds of music.

Why so focused upon the less amplification stressing genres Ron ? You still have your head stuck in a 65W ceiling ….. I promise Stavros won’t bite ;)

Because complex, high dynamic range music is more demanding on an amplifier than girl with guitar. All you have to do is watch the output meters measuring watts.

Is this really controversial?

Do you have your particular dim head on today Ron ! … That is exactly what Stavros will explain to you … ergo my advising having a conversation with him

All fair...that said, if you ever decide to try the Thrax 300B monos (6 x 300B tubes per side)...pure Class A sound and I imagine plenty of reserves for your speakers just based on their reputation for robust designs...let us know! ;)

you have to take credit for changing tubes, even the good tj 300b premium cost $1200 a pair.

TJ is not good. And those who can afford thrax won’t mind tube cost
