State of the industry - Roy Gregory Editorial

again Rex you have made a statement that is not factual and again you only see a part of the story. Show me where I said that OCDF guy should get off this forum? Perhaps you might want to go back over the time line and watch his incendiary videos insulting my products and challenging me. I had never met this person, never spoken to this person ever, I am a huge supporter of the freedom of speech and expression however free speech is not free from consequences or reaction. I have stated before and I will repeat myself to you again
I will if attacked, challenged, my friends and my business alliances are attacked unfairly , I will respond and defend them. If you were my friend and someone jumped on you wrongfully I would do that for you as well. Those videos were just someone trying to make a name for themselves at the expense of others. Period. If OCD wanted to listen he could have easily come into my room and talked to me like anyone else but he didn't.
You don't know the facts and you have made major incorrect assumptions.
Go back watch the videos , make your self fully informed.
I am sorry Mike L. I know you hate this but I would defend you this way as well. Its who I am.
Ok,
I'm sorry, you did not say get off the thread or forum. You said this.

You first are not my friend. I have never met you however you started this Mike. Only you have your mouth to blame.

Its this type of tone and temper that is seeping into every thread. Just look a few post up here. It is no longer fun cajoling. Its uncomfortable to read malice towards others. And its coming from the primary members of the group. What is going on????? Why is if becoming so rancorous. It really is no fun to read. There is no teaching and learning going on. Its like a dog kennel. A bunch of unhappy caged animals growling at each other.

No David, my views on preference and natural sound are clear. If you disagree with my points please feel free to reply directly to me, you do not need to comment on other members answers.
I thought I replied very directly with Tim, I wasn’t arguing your preferences.

OCD was bashing other people. I am not at all saying he was not. What I am saying is this forum has maybe 15 people that dominate the content. Its no different than any other forum. I see not reason for the principal posters to fall to the levels of some of the incidental individuals that post.
read his latest response direct from planet delusional in which he also bashes Mike and maybe everyone else that heard Mike's system.
I agree this is gotten old. I will respect these opinions and someone please tell me how you put them on ignore. Rex I have never met this person, I have no idea where any of this comes from other than the obvious of him putting himself above the industry , this forum and anything else.
The insults are absurd since as I said our paths have never met.
Tell me how to make disappear here and I will not engage with him again.
the last post is a really something however over in Axpona 2022. I did get a good laugh.
I guess that is how you get minions to follow you

This is a perfect example of how members coments are growing toxic. Others have fallen into this same rut. Not to bash on Elliot, but I was aghast at his retorts to OCD Mike. Telling him I don't like you and get off this forum. Its like everyone is turning into a MEP.

Maybe I am guilty too. But people need to step away from their keyboards and reread after an hour. You may find your editing your comments.

First you come at my comments about a theory of preferences wherein I say everyone gets to have what ever preference they want, with a rather petty remark about those comments putting mud in your eye. Nothing I wrote was directed at you. When then I responded suggesting if my words messed up your eyes, then maybe stay away from them, you reply with your remarks here.
I have no plans to change my views on preferences to suit your feelings. I do not direct my comments at you nor consider myself responsible for how you react to my or anyone else's posts. The only suggestion I have for you, since you seem quite sensitive, is to not read what I write. I don't know what else to say to you.

If all you gentlemen are going to do is bicker between each other, I see no point in letting the thread continue. We are off topic and have been for some time.

This is akin to "97 of channels of **** on the TV to choose from" (A reference to a Pink Floyd classic)

This thread is one of those channels. If you don't like or prefer what someone has to say, simply put them on ignore.

Why bother Tim with @spiritofmusic, @microstrip, etc., when no argument is stupid enough to put forward and their understanding of the subject is as basic as water is wet and rock is hard. Their only interest either out of ignorance, malice or both is to mandate ”Natural Sound” and what terms people should use.

david

In spirit's case he may say something cheeky trying to get a laugh and can be obsessive about tweaks while insisting on respect for that, but I don't think he acts in bad faith. Certain others, yes I agree.

I am sorry you agree. I have get used to the way of some people usually deal with any opposition - rude insults on the opponent, avoiding any rational discussion of the arguments being exposed.
I expected better from you.

Spiritofmusic main arguments are as valid as yours. I have agreed and disagreed with him many times, and must note that his care and love for tweaks is not different from that of the majority of our members, including the forum owners.

The one thing I have learned over the years is that one *never* knows the knowledge base, experience or what one hears within their own personal system just based upon chatting online concerning another member they have never met.

We should not have to get used too the way another member makes rude insults on an opponent with differing thoughts, or avoid any rational discussion of the arguments being exposed. Nor should we accept it. One member's stance is just as valid as another (Some are held at a higher esteem) but with that said? Respect is garnered by example and sharing of observations....not shoving one's thoughts and beliefs down everyone's throat as if it was the audio gospel.

It would be very nice to see posts on this forum, once again, garner a kind of respect to where ALL members are morally owed just because they are humans, regardless of social position, individual characteristics or achievements, or moral merit where they can post without some kind of unneeded fear of being prosecuted for their own observations. We are all humans and while respect is earned? Respect should be offered/given as well due to the aforementioned in my previous post.

This thread is an example of the complete opposite. It is complete with obnoxious posts, snippy and snide, arrogant and condescending responses. Once again, the complete opposite of a "cordial" conversation.....which is a prerequisite of being a member of this forum.

Tom

This thread has become like driving by a car crash and craning your neck to see what happened. You don't want to do it but you can't help yourself. Closing it would be censorship, but letting it die a natural death by not posting anything more would be more like a welcome mercy killing.

Words to live by in all facets of life.
