Taiko Audio Extreme Music Server

For those who are unfamiliar, the Seismion Reactio active platform looks like this:

Rather plain to be sure, but the no-frills look is one of the reasons the Reactio sells for less than other active platforms. On the other hand, it does cost more than the footers many Extreme owners use. Reactio's vibration sensing and compensation are reportedly extremely fast and work over a very wide frequency range. There are few online reviews but in a couple of comparative reports, Reactio came out on top. It would be most interesting to hear from Extreme owners who've tried one under their server. Anyone ready to share?

Whatever isolation device you use , I bet is better than not using any

Is anyone else having trouble with getting anything to play on xdms?

Everything looks normal. Connected, logged into Qobuz. Tried restarts on everything. Deleted xdms and reinstalled with latest alpha release. Re-started DAC.

I also can't get xdms to allow to switch to Roon.

Could it be related to new alpha release?

Thanks

I also had trouble getting onto Discord the last time I tried, believe it or not! That’s why I posted here. I’ll try discord again

The problem started before switching to the latest version. But I loaded the latest version 3.0.2+1 hoping it would remedy the problem.

Don’t know how to look up what backend I have, And have no idea how to install the latest one: 2.5.0?

The latest backend is just a copy and paste. There is no script to run. Just stop all the XDMS services and copy XDMS.exe to c:\xdms.

Tap settings ‘rose’ at top right and you’ll see the info at the top showing backend and app version.

I have been lost for a couple months.
I messaged Ed to bring me up to speed.
Sucks getting old

Anyone experienced problems with Taiko Extreme connecting to the Horizon DAC?

The Horizon works with a Macbook no prob - Lampizator shows in preferences, plays all computer sounds via Horizon - so I know the Horizon USB input is working.

Once connected to Taiko - it doesn't show up in Roon (Settings>Audio).

I have this issue every once is a while. I have found that an Extreme reboot fixes the issue. Also, just make sure the Horizon is on the right input “04”.

Yes, it is on the input 04. It works with a Mac and my Linux based server without any problems.

The Taiko has no problems with connecting to Esoteric N01 XD via USB.

So it seems Horizon USB input works, Taiko USB card works, USB cable works. The only variable left IMO is the USB driver @ Taiko, as Windows (Taiko is Windows based) needs a separate USB driver for each and every DAC.

(Both Mac OS and Linux are natively USB Audio 2.0 compliant, so do not need any drivers.)

Has it ever worked with your extreme and now it doesn’t work or is this a new issue? If it is a new issue it could definitely be the driver.
