thx . I assumed that as it was possible to find some TotalDac stuff in this part of the world, it should have been the same for the d1-player. I don’t think it is a question of matching but more a question of « taste ».
Esotar distributes Taiko Extreme Server and is fair recommending Totaldac as matching DACs. Thank you Esotar.
Vincent~!
Your DAC is really fantastic~!!!
I'm Trinity DAC user.
Trinity DAC is very awesome, but in case of Extreme's DAC, d1-Seven +
Reclocker is more than Trinity DAC.
I was really surprised with d1-Seven + SGM Extreme.
d1-Twelve MK II goes without saying.
Korean TotalDAC orders amount will be increased more and more.
Very fantastic again
^^

Please rate the MSB Select II v TotalDac 12 for us in numbers. from 1- 100.
MSB selec II femto 33 dual power supppl rate is :...……….
TotalDac 12 is:...………………….
I think MSB will be little higher rated 98 ? than TotalDAc ( much lower cost)
Just enter the numbers of the SQ by your opinion and Korean audiophiles who you talked to.
Thanks
Thank you very much Esotar!
Note that this d1-twelve-mk2 is not full option either, full option would be with live-power and with d1-driver. This full option setup will be used for next Paris hifi show the 7th and 8th of December.
Tank you Esotar
Vincent is right . There is live power upgrate missing as well as there are no D1 drivers that change the sound very significant.
This is the best MSB has to offer us - MSB Select 2 witl mono options and femto 33.
Vincent has also TotalDAC 24 that is a TOP solution in balanced chain.
I would love to compare MSB select 2 full option with TotalDac 24 with live option and 2 Mono Drivers to keep it balanced.
In this comparison I think TotalDAC could be much better than MSB select2.
Hello Esotar,
"Q1. d1-Seven & d1-Direct difference features"
The d1-seven has 3.2V RCA outputs and 6.4V balanced XLR outputs. It uses a transistor output stage.
The d1-direct has no active output stage (no transistor, no tube), the output is direct from the R2R ladders, via only an offset cancellation system.
The d1-direct has unbalanced outputs only, 1.6V on RCA and XLR.
So the d1-seven is more universal because it has both unbalanced and balanced outputs, and more output voltage when needed.
All these informations are already on Totaldac web site.
About listening, the d1-direct can give an even higher sound quality, more transparent, more natural, more 3D, and this is even more true when the d1-driver is used after the DAC.
The difference is sound is quite similar to the sound difference between the unbuffered and the buffered outputs of the d1-twelve.mk2, and most people prefer the unbuffered output.
"Q2. Easy introduction about d1-Driver"
The d1-driver is an analog driver. It has analog inputs and analog outputs. It amplifies the signal power.
It prevents the electrical wave from the speaker from coming back into the DAC.
It is connected at the DAC output, and it can control a power amplifier or an integrated amplifier or a preamp.
About listening, adding the driver to any DAC improves drastically the control at all frequencies, making better bass, better dynamic, better presence, better realism, better 3D and without any loss of transparency.
It is made to improve the sound quality of all Totaldac DACs, and it has also been tested with success on a MSB Select by mono&stereo.
"about live-power"
Yes the one-box liver power allows to use a single power cord to supply the low voltage power to a multi-box DAC, even also to feed a d1-driver or streamer, but the first aim of the live power is to improve the sound quality as mentioned in the web site. This is why the live power also exists as a small box with a single output.
The one-box big enclosure (same size as a Totaldac DAC) embeds also a massive copper plate and silent blocs which the small enclosure can't embed.
If you can't get enough technical information from a distributor, check the Totaldac web site, informations should be there. I am also available to answer questions even from countries in Asia covered by a distributor.
If in Korea you are not rich and if you want the best sound, consider RCA links!
I use mostly RCA analog interconnects in my seek of the best sound.

Great Explanation Vincent.
I think you are missing the info about the TotalDac 24 output.
Can you please give us short info : There is NO ouput stage , It is unbuffered ,
What is the voltage at XLR you get with NO output stage ?
Will adding the ouput stage make sense here ?
Lastly adding the 2 separate mono D1 Drivers will improve the sound very significant.
Hi Kris,
The d1-24 has only unbuffered outputs. These outputs are natively balanced (because made of roughly two d1-twelve, one for the positive signal and one for the negative signal).
The balanced output voltage is 3.2Vrms.
No need to add an output stage. The best solution consists in adding a pair of balanced d1-drivers. The sound improvement should be significant. At least it is significant when added to the d1-twelve-mk2.
Vincent, d1-24 is 8 stacks, right?
Q1. I want to know about each component infos.
Q2. How many do power cables be needed?
Q3. d1-24 has added option components???
I believe d1-24 will be super fantastic.
But I hope d1-24 full option is not like CH C1 MONO full option.
That's crazy.
Yes Esotar d1-24 is crazy, this is why it is for custom orders only.
It is composed of:
-4 DAC monoblocs
-3 reclocker
-1 power supply
One power cord is enough to supply it.
It can have the same options as the d1-twelve-mk2 because roughly it is made of two d1-twelve-mk2
TWO d1- Drivers are needed???
Power Supply has 10 rails??? or in case of full option orderers have to use three power cable???
d1-Twelve MK II users can charge upgrade????
Yes two d1-driver is a way of improving it (or replacing a preamp).
The power supply for two d1-drivers can be integrated in a one-box live-power power supply. That would make a single power cord for both d1-drivers.
Yes it is possible to upgrade a d1-twelve-mk2 to a custom d1-24.
