We are already above 10,000 deaths (with the number probably being underreported), and this will increase several fold in the next few weeks.

He says he is not being paid by the government and thus can do actual science. This is quite an arrogant thing to say, shockingly so for a scientist. Are all the other scientists shills for the government? That sounds like a conspiracy theory to me.

10k is an approximate number that he claims would have been without the social distancing. If you take anyones claims point by point you'll find inconsistencies but taken as an overall POV, herd immunization vs isolation then there's merit in what he says. Either way there still isn't enough data to come to any final conclusion but historically this things have come and gone (not disappeared). This is how I feel and probably am as wrong or right as anyone else at this point.

Cytokine is where the immune system stays in an energized state after defeating the virus, and continues to attack your organs, instead of going back to normal

what I got from the paper was that there are more T cells when you are younger than when you are in the older age group. Hence less involvement with the younger age groups

I am not an expert here but that seems to be the hypothesis put forward in the Ahmadpoor and Rostaing letter that I sent.

Yes Al, that guy is scary to me. I wouldn't trust a single letter coming out of his mouth, I wouldn't even approach him by a town next to his town. He's someone in his bubble gasping for air.
His eyes look demonic and he moves his mouth as if he has dementia. I stay far far far away from that.

I use a mask when riding my bike. The part that covers my mouth is wet in no time.
I find it troubling that masks are not being used as a prophylactic to prevent ingestion of that cloud.

New member , first post.
I'n an Intensive Care specialist when I'm not listening to music. About half of the deaths I'm seeing from this are from cardiac causes, not respiratory. In face , from a lung point of view , some of this who die are making slight improvements . What I'm seeing is an abrupt deterioration in the cardiovascular system akin to an acute myocarditis or severe viral cardiomyopathy. Once this happens , there appears to be an inexorable decline towards irreversible cardiac death. I've seen bad swine flu ( in fact, got it from a sick patient). This is worse, far worse despite what the so called experts say.

Thanks Ron , I'll introduce myself more formally when I have a wee bit of spare time. As you may imagine, haven't got a lot of that . Short answer to your question is no, not yet.

Here in Brazil the chloroquine is being used in many hospitals.
So far the numbers are:
death of patients using chloroquine: 11%
death of patients not using it: 18%

The report from the national health agency says no conclusion can be taken. In fact they say that the statistical result is similar.
