David Karmeli’s Bionor/Lamm/AS-2000 Audio System

Off the top of my head:

Avantgarde Duo 3X
other horn speakers at David’s
Cessaro Liszt
Cessaro Zeta 3X
Classic Audio
JBL Hartsfield 2X
JBL/multi-cell
JBL Everest
Tannoy Westminster 10X+
Tune Audio Anima 3X
Tune Audio Avaton
Vox Olympian 2X
Zingalli Acoustics

Please also my horn reports from the two Munich shows I attended.

Thanks again. But the main point was not the list, just a simple question - I will quote myself

"Did you listen to any other system with horns that created a similar suspension of disbelief in you?"

? Was yours an attempt to spread misinformation?

No, this is Ron thread on his listening of David system, my post was meant to be read considering their preferences and expressed opinions in WBF and my interests.

And surely, considering your legitimate preference for a specific type of vinyl and vintage gear, that I respect, your opinions on digital are of little use to me. Thanks anyway.

What a dishonest person. I put in examples of various users who use tape and digital on their horns, many from this forum. You are dishonest in the way you debate, with little experience value add

A pity you can't resist changing debates to insults when people disagree with you. Bye.

.

yes you should say bye, you mislead people that horn users don’t have tape and digital, and when presented with many forum members to the contrary, turned it to my preferences, vintage, etc. dishonest debater

Nice. All we need now are horns that sound good with digital and tape.

I don't know about tape, but here are three horns that sound good with digital: ddk's Bionors, the Vitavox CN-191, and the JBL M9500. As did the non horn Mitsubishi Diatone. I heard a very natural digital sound there. It was not streaming but rather good old compact disks.

What was the digital source and DAC (or CD player)?
He heard more than one system and I move stuff around. I know Goldmund & Neodio players are generally there in two rooms I think he also heard CEC+Weiss or Meitner in a 3rd space.

Again and again, do not put ideas that I did not write in my posts. Forum posts must be read as part of an whole, connected to previous posts and in context, not isolated to start a fight. WBF members are senior enough to know it, I do not have the time for childish behavior.

i try not to comment on videos one way or another and respect those who like doing them or want to me to do them. i reserve the right to change my mind about doing them at some point.

you are absolutely welcome to visit anytime for the actual experience of my system doing LZ.

i have a group coming tomorrow and i expect it's on the agenda.
I think its hilarious that folks pressure you into posting crappy iphone videos. How sad this forum has become and the opposite of it's name.

I still need to come up and hear you room, Mike.

Streaming was just one of the main points of my post - we both know David strong opinions on it. Do you think the same?

BTW, my post aimed at modern horns, not Bionor's or unobtainium.

Fransisco, I was not aware that you qualified your request about horns. You simply said horns and digital. I gave you three examples of vintage horns and Bonzo gave you examples of other horns with digital.

You also wrote digital. You did not specify compact disc or streaming. If you’re going to disregard responses that don’t meet your unspecified criteria, you should be more specific when making a comment.

About 15-20 years ago i watched all the ebay auctions on the klangfilm electronics and if i can remeber there were a pair of bionor speakers that went for around 45,000.I wonder if these were the ones Dave bought
This auction was in 2006 and was with replicated wood.
DDK displayed his system as early as 2003 at CES in Vegas.

Whats special about this speaker. It looks like my PAP trio 15 horn. Accept they put the woofers in boxes.

I moved away from this speaker to the Coax 10. The horn was very pretty on horns and violin. But a tad exaggerated where harpsichord became burried under the other instruments. The coax is much more linear. And it still has a horn tweeter.

Just look up the JBL M9500. It is an extremely good sounding speaker. It was their flagship speaker at the time. What is special about it? It sounds natural when driven by the right gear.

You should have upgraded the compression driver. It is an ok one for the money but there are significantly better one from Beyma (where they got the one in the PAP). Do you know if the coax is Beyma? They are pretty good coax drivers.

Just had a look at the photo of the driver they use…it’s a Beyma. Dynamikks used to use this driver.

The picture @PeterA posted had nothing to do with any speaker he was showing Brad the Goldmund & Neodio CD players we were talking about.

These JBLs have nothing in common with any PAP speaker, AFAIK PAP wasn’t even around when the JBLs were made. As far as what makes them special, lots of things. Read about their design criteria and the white paper associated with their creation then you’ll have some knowledge about why they’re special. Then go hear them somewhere.
