Not only xlr ,Speakon and Powercon are better than any IEC plug or speaker connector. That's what I call contact security. You can use them to lower your speakers and equipment from the first floor if you want.

Not an issue in a home system though, not sure how many times your gear gets accidentally unplugged while in operation? what we really care about it contact resistance and for that, a binding post + spade is actually measurably superior. For power, a pure copper plug and receptacle are superior to the brass used in powercons.

I like the Neutrik stuff, just a quick cable comparison, don't switch anything off, just do it.( rca+speakon) Around 2 milliohms contact resistance is really good. You need really expensive measuring equipment to measure that. A normal test lead usually has more.
you don't need to try this with a normal measuring bridge.
