Sorry for the order of the files. The pdf isn’t copying well.

Does this make for a faster cap having them precharged ..

My understanding is that it allows a less expensive capacitor to behave more like a more expensive one, though presumably Alon isn't doing it as a cost-cutting measure. Or maybe he is... now THAT would be scary!!

Well at this point it's all just speculation, we don't know what he's actually doing.

Here's an article about DC-biased capacitors:

EDIT: I overlooked Audire's post above; he may have posted while I was looking for that article. Looks like I was totally wrong!!

And then decided to surpass it with a better and more expensive direct-radiator speaker ... ;)
At this stage all we know is that the new M9 speakers are more expensive.

Maybe his horn is still his ultimate speaker and this may just be his most expensive one.

I don’t know how many Magico will sell of these but I am sure he’ll sell a heap of the inevitable M8s and M7s off the totl tech and aura of his more astronomical statement behemoths.

Part 1 the Facebook sexy pics tease, Part 2 the breathless Jonathon Valin first listen best in category tease to follow.

I'm sure it will sounds amazing. The trickle down of what Magico learned here will probably be in some more upcoming Magicos that hopefully cost a little less.
Exactly!
Similar to the Wilson Chronosonic WAMM/XVX, this Magico M9 is not the matter of 99.999% of the audiophiles on earth.
o_O

However many of us will be waiting for Alon to trickle down the new aluminum honeycomb drivers to Magico's new lower models (hopefully some new M models).
:D

So its an electronic Xover for multi amping ..
From what I understand either two stereo amps or four monos. The pdf photos above explains more.

Agree here the lower models will benefit greatly ..

the Ultimates requiring Tri-amping and the whole shabang needing DSP for all inputs spelled a death knell for this direction. the market would never (did never) support it.

tri-amped horns are in the DIY arena only.
I guess I mixed two difference opinions in one post. Opinion #1. These wildly inefficient things will require $100K plus of amplification. #2 I thought their horn speakers were cool and I wished they did a follow up.

Requires two stereo or four mono amps - love the total system price. And honestly, I appreciate the vision and deep engineering skillset. I do think it will sit comfortably at the top of everything else out there at the moment. The driver sophistication alone in the latest M generations sets Magico apart, IMO
