Magico M9

...the Titan [subwoofer] was designed with the M9s in mind...Alon says that even with the M9s adding two Titans adds an overall uptick in SQ and they have a pair at the factory that can be demonstrated with the M9s.
Not surprised by that. Personally a big fan of utilizing subs for sense of envelopment, of recording venue/hall and that sense of rooted-to-the-stage-in-real-life foundation.

They choose to pick one of the absolute worst modern recordings out there for this? Great voice. A complete waste of a recording. All this video does (to me) is exemplify the compression and how exactly NOT to make a recording.

Better video than I could have made but still nowhere near the real room experience with the M9. Stunning speakers I think....as they should be....

I am reading all these comments and can not understand that i can see people here that say that these millions dollars systems “are not good for them” to listen music….

My question is, have you ever listened any music in life or you just listen to cables, audio stands, etc..?
I mean, i am going to think that statement “audiophiles are people who listen cables just to prove that they have bigger d..c than someone else”…is totally true…

For me thats totally misunderstood point of buying audio equipment ….. sorry but so many toxic and ungrateful comments here…

I will never say that my Lamm Signature equipment with Wilsons XLF sound bad or this way or that way, because i listen to music, i am grateful that i had opportunity to have system of this level…. even i have almost 1.000.000$ cost of it.
I bought that during time , to have system i will listen to music, and not to make philosophy about it or to change components every few months….

Etc etc
Have a nice day …

I bet your system sounds excellent. Welcome to the forum. I’d be interested in reading more about your system in a Lamm or Wilson thread.

Welcome to WBF, LammJunkie!

I, too, bet your system sounds excellent. I am a big fan of the sound of Lamm electronics!

sorry but so many toxic and ungrateful comments here…

Some of the comments are snipey. Some audiophiles feel that no matter how much they spent on their systems (even if it's a lot of money in the real world) they like to criticize anyone who spends significantly more than they did.

Some of the comments are rank brand partisanship.

Some of the comments are genuine but assumption based. Highly opinionated audiophiles may look at a listening room and conclude -- without hearing it -- that they would not like the sound of it. Some people feel they have heard components from certain brands, don't care for the sound of what they heard, and assume they would not like the sound of the flagship components of those brands.

Some of the comments are genuine but cosmopolitan and very particular in the sense that many of us are very picky about sound and we attribute significant differences in musical value to subtle or nuanced differences in the perceived sounds of different systems. For example, I might hear a $2 million system including a top loudspeaker brand with flagship electronics from a solid-state designer and top-of-the-line cables and appreciate intellectually its sonic attributes and understand fully why other people love it, but find it not to be my personal cup of tea musically or emotionally.

Some of the comments are very positive.

So we have lots of different members with lots of different opinions!:)

Welcome. My friend you are what I call a music lover and not an audiophile. When you find a system that is to your liken keep it and enjoy the music.

I think many folks simplistically view this as being mutually exclusive - you're either chasing an ultimate unobtainable sound OR you "listen to and love music". What stops anyone from listening and loving music while they're on their journey? That, IMO is the joy of it all.

Not much of a difference ! ;)

Do you remember the guy who had Lamm and Wilsons even when I warned him not to get Lamm ml3 for them because they wouldn’t match and he put them on sale 3 months later?

John Atkinson thought they matched, so did Dave Wilson.

wonder who sold them to him?

Yes but at your young age you cottoned on to the fact they don't drive your speakers completely pretty quick, and sold them on.
