Very happy about that. Hope it's the beginning of a trend. And to think that the whole basketball world just saw how the Bucks won a title without resorting to super team syndrome.

I hope so, too but I'm afraid it won'tVery happy about that. Hope it's the beginning of a trend.
I tend to agree. The league is just too good not to attempt acquiring 2-3 stars as the Nets have done. The only problem with that is how it will affect the chemistry of the team. So for me I still cannot discount the Nets if all 3 are healthy. Maybe the nets will go all out and acquire KawhiI hope so, too but I'm afraid it won't
Agreed unfortunately.I hope so, too but I'm afraid it won't
Injury really messed up the play this season. But with one exception and that is the marvelous recovery of Giannis from a hyper extended knee which was gruesome to look at on replays. He not only was able to play but unlike others who showed 'weakness' from their injuries, Giannis actually got better , culminating in that 50 point Game 6 clincher wherein he suddenly had a medium range jump shot, tremendous offensive rebounding (his follow up dunks reminded me of a leaner and younger Shaq), and shot an incredible (from his past percentage) 17 of 19 free throws. To me, this eclipsed the 42 point performance of Magic in a clinching game, it's one for the books.Let's not forget also how injuries impact the overall results. We saw how the Suns got to the finals as injuries plagued their opponents and FWIW the Bucks beat an injured Nets team so as great a comeback that the Bucks had in the finals and proving to the world how good they are, one can only wonder ...."what if" so I guess we will wait for a normal next season and not games every other day in a shortened season

What he lacks now is a sky hook. He's a very special player. He even quickly learned how to make free throws
Don't minimize the fact that Magic had to play out of position (center) for that game.... and he had more fun playing basketball than any professional player ever...Injury really messed up the play this season. Not at all. I've mentioned that great performance many times in this thread. For a rookie at that, he stands alone in that category, imoDon't minimize the fact that Magic had to play out of position (center) for that game.... and he had more fun playing basketball than any professional player ever...
as I've said, I was at that game and for a "rookie" there is nothing that comes close. Both games, both players proved they were in a league of their own. Giannis is a seasoned excellent player that will one day be in the HOF as is MagicTo me, this eclipsed the 42 point performance of Magic in a clinching game, it's one for the books.
Unfortunately injuries are the new normal even in "normal" seasons. Off top of head, just recently we had:I tend to agree. very true but as long as there are players signing contracts for over $200M , it becomes all about money and waning the ring. This past season was a shortened season game wise but also season length which resulted in every team playing every other day which IMO had a great affect on player injuriesIf they really want the best basketball (meaning healthiest players) they've got to figure out a way to shorten the season.
Even if he's a former Celtic, I do not enjoy watching Perkins on The Jump. Kinda spoils the trio of Rachel Nichols and Richard Jefferson. What I really wonder is why his 'spot time' is prolonged from about a year or 2 ago when some agent put him in at the ESPN show. Apparently, he's doing good on whatever ratings they have there.when did Kendrick Perkins become a sportscaster?? To me the only one worse is Jalen Rose
