New Album & The Beginning of Basketball Season

Wow....even Bill Plaschke of the LA Times is saying nice things about Steve Ballmer and the Clippers.

And Ballmer boldly states his objectives for the Clippers

Apparently Steve was irritated with the negative vibe Laker fans directed at the Clippers

I thought that was a very good read. What really caught my attention was the fact that Ballmer has owned the Clippers for 7 years. Wow……tempus fugit. Not surprisingly was the comment that he’s the richest owner in the NBA.

The one thing for sure is that he will bring a championship home to LA at some point. It won’t be this year and I continue to wonder if it will be during the next 4 years ( really 3) of the KL era.

Not surprisingly, the agent with a $2.7b empire will be hard to defeat.

Ben Simmons, from the comments below the article, is turning into a super villain.

Pretty bold move for a guy who can't shoot and fades when the lights are brightest....meaning Ben Simmons, not Rich Paul.

I gather from the newsbits and talk shows that Ben can be fined, and suspended for not reporting to 'work', come next week for training camp. I agree with some analysts, the Sixers did him no wrong, it was Ben who under-achieved in the last playoffs. He signed a max contract, and has to honor it.

FWIW I like Simmons and he finds a happy home. but reality is he could sit out the entire season. Could there really be bad blood between him and Embiid. If so it reminds one of the dust up between KD and Draymond Green on the Warriors when KD demanded a trade

Excellent read here re the top 5 in the NBA this year. Lebron is finally starting to fade as he goes from number 1 to number 3

Definitely KD as number 1 and Giannis number 2 but good to see Doncic as number 4 with reliable Steph still drawing accolades

I like Manu and enjoyed reading this today.......

SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Manu Ginobili is back with the San Antonio Spurs, with the club announcing his hiring Friday as a special adviser to basketball operations.

Ginobili spent the entirety of his 16-year NBA career with the Spurs, helping them win four championships. The Argentine was a two-time All-Star, a two-time All-NBA selection and averaged 13.3 points over 1,057 regular-season games from 2002 through 2018.

Ginobili — also a EuroLeague champion and Olympic gold medalist as a player — remains the Spurs’ all-time leader in 3-pointers (1,495) and steals (1,392). San Antonio won 72% of the games in which he played, the best percentage in NBA history for any player with at least 1,000 games.

The Spurs announced Ginobili’s hiring as part of a flurry of moves Friday, including announcing three promotions on the coaching staff: Willis Hall becoming a player development assistant, Sean Sheldon now head video coordinator and Josh Brannon now assistant video coordinator.

I'm surprised that the Miami Heat hasn't caused any comments from you guys here. Everyone is already taking a Nets-Bucks eastern conference final but with Butler aided now by Lowry do any of think the Heat have the ability to make a run at it as they did 2 years ago

I have always thought Lowry to be an excellent player who can change the result of a game really quick

I see this year as going to be something special....the aging and fading stars vs a new young group of speedy and effective gazelles whoo can run circles around these old guys . There are just too many great teams this year to make any bold predictions other than the Lakers who Kendrick Perkins feels can win 70 games o_O. I think Kendrick got his numbers twisted as he probably felt that their average age was 70 and they will be in the wheel chair play in round

All kidding aside, I think the Heat could be better than expected this year. Lowry to me is truly a game changer.

That's true. The trend continues, big name players threatening to bolt or sit our or demand trades. I won't be surprise someday if Jayson Tatum is one of them....

I still think the Heat where lucky and at the right place at the right time, they IMHO can not repeat a final appearance, let alone win it all.

I always liked Lowry with the Raptors back when DeRozan was also there, but as soon as they entered the playoffs, Lowry lost his mojo and DeRozan alone was not able to carry the Raptors past round one or two
