New Album & The Beginning of Basketball Season

I read this with a big chuckle on my face

I guess in audio we can build a vintage system but building a vintage team in the NBA involves taking from the "old folks home"

Lakers say they’re building a vintage championship contender

LeBron is confident in his supporting cast of accomplished NBA veterans as they look to prove age is not yet a hindrance to their incredible talent.

and to quote Carmelo........

It’s never bulletin-board material, because it’s somebody else’s narrative,” said Carmelo, a close friend of LeBron and fellow member of the 2003 Draft class. “We don’t get moments like this often where you have a group of guys with this stature on one team who all like each other. That’s hard to find.”

I wonder how many of these senior citizens are clients of Rich Paul

It will be interesting to watch the Lakers this year. I've read that Anthony Davis took his conditioning seriously this off-season and is in better shape than ever. He's not always kept himself in the best physical condtion in past seasons.

As for "vintage" one should never underestimate LeBron. Love him or hate him he is always in the mix - Lakers owe their last title to LeBron and his leadership in The Bubble when others with less mental toughness fell by the wayside.

What will be most interesting to me is how Westbrook will work with the team. Fun to watch LeBron when Russ takes off on one of his out of control one man fast breaks and clangs a layup off the rim.

Only one guy could manage all of the big egos on the Lakers this year and that is LBJ.

Trick will be keeping all of the old timers on the court. If they do, look out.

Looks like Kyrie is trying to wreck the Nets this year and they have a geriatric roster as well.

If it is Lakers and Nets in the Finals even I would root for the Lakers over the Darth Vader Nets.

A very sage comment indeed esp as LeBron is in the twilight of his career. If they pull this off it will have to go down in Ripley's Believe It or not

I just think that with all of the official time outs in the games now, there is total disruption in the flow of the game. Not only that but the officials time out also is a both teams time out where they can catch a breather as well as have plays drawn up by the coaches. To me it is an unfair advantage to both teams as they rehuddle to await the timeout decision. This rule willl hopefully improve the flow of the game

NBA Board of Governors approves instant replay changes
The changes to instant replay will be on a one-year trial basis for the 2021-22 season.

Stephen A.'s top destinations for Ben Simmons. Fortunately all Kendrick could do was nod his head.I wonder what KP gets paid to call himself a sports commentator.Heck if he is correct and Lakers win 70mgames KP might decide to come out of retirement and sign with the Laker "fossils"

Kyrie has now wrested the title of Weirdest NBA Player from Kawhi. Ben Simmons is in the running as well.

Heck, Kawhi at least sounded like he wanted to play when interviewed at the opening of Clippers training camp....not that I believe him.

What is the definition of eternity?

Used to be two people and a ham.

Then it became the last two minutes of an NBA game.

Hope this change tidies things up.

And I really such high hopes when Kyrie came to Boston. Then the flat earth thing came, then the blasting of team mates and then the incense spraying and the logo stomping and now this vaccination stuff plus news that the Nets should trade him. But who would want to get him?

And glad to hear about the 'James Harden' rule. The league will curb those manipulative fouls initiated by the offensive player. They rid of flopping, and this is a very good thing to get rid of as well.

as for Kyrie he has made his feelings known, however, (and without getting political) he is not the only NBA player who has rejected the mandate

amongst others......

Warriors' Andrew Wiggins says he will stick to beliefs regarding vaccine

Wiggins faces the possibility of not being allowed into Golden State’s home building at Chase Center for games come Oct. 13 if not vaccinated.

and this..........

Nearly half of the league’s teams have said in recent days that they are already fully vaccinated or on the cusp of hitting that threshold. Other players, such as Golden State’s Andrew Wiggins and Washington’s Bradley Beal, have said they remain unvaccinated.

Phoenix’s Devin Booker — who has missed the start of camp after testing positive for COVID-19 — has not disclosed his vaccination status. Neither has Brooklyn’s Kyrie Irving, though not appearing in person at Nets media day in New York on Monday would suggest that he is unvaccinated.

Local laws in San Francisco and New York mean that players for the Warriors, Nets and New York Knicks will have to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to play home games. And if players like Wiggins or Irving are unable to play at home because of their vaccination status, they will not be paid for those games, the NBA said earlier this week.

The first preseason game of the season is Sunday when the Nets visit the Los Angeles Lakers.

Lakers' First Practice

I understand that the video clip was speeded up to suggest they were playing at full throttle ;). So essentially it is like listening to a 33 1/3 speed record played at 45 rpm. Makes it seem that the Lakers can actually run and keep up with the younger generation players:eek:

Los Angeles Lakers' Russell Westbrook vows to push Anthony Davis 'every single night

so Westbrook becomes the first "wheel chair" pusher on the Lakers team but AD is still a kid on this team. Westbrook need to look around the team and pick the easiest to push wheel chair
