Trivia time before the final Celtics Lakers game of the season. I doubt they will meet in the Finals. Since 1959 to 1969, the Celtics had beaten the Lakers in the Finals every time, for a 7-0 record. My first experience of this famed rivalry came in the 1984 Finals where the scene was just so electrifying for me to see as a first timer. With all the drama from 'Henderson stole the ball', to the McHale clothesline of Rambis (today that must be a Flagrant 4), to Kareem in oxygen tank in Game 7 of the sauna sweat bath, and finally to Red Auerbach's cigar lighting moment at the locker room asking Brent Musburger - "Whatever happened to the Lakers' dynasty?", it was truly an unforgettable moment for this Celtics fan. And the record then was 8-0 for Celtics. Fast forward to 2010 and the C's has a Finals split with the Lakers, with Perk missing part of Game 6 and the whole Game 7 as Gasol and Bynum at up the boards for the Lakers win. Tonight may be a regular game, but the rivalry still lives on.Celts are 13-11 whereas Lakers are 12-12 so I'm still favoring the Celtics tomorrow Phil
I remember as a kid watching Bob Cousy play for the Celts
