lol says the one of the three guys so regularly support each others digital postsIt might be a measure of "high value" to the forum. Alternatively it might just be/also be a measure of the ability of a poster to summon his "tribe" to his side every time he posts.
Analog is superior - like
Horns are superior - like
SETs are superior - like
It is so because I have the most experience - like
And so on.
any news on MBL?
It’s called Harrison Karison.I’ve been slightly obsessed by a record by a new Japanese artist to the recording industry who sings and plays the guitar. It’s something of a concept album and the opening track starts with the sound of him apparently choking to death whilst falling on his guitar. Is it some Japanese ritual I’ve not heard of?

Your answers are predictable like clockwork.
Your answers are predictable like clockwork.
At least people who like digital don't feel the need to justify their choice by constantly screaming that their medium is "superior".
And yes, I can predict your answer to this one, too.
Yep…every superhero needs a villainWithout digital there wouldnt be a forum /WBF possible at all![]()
Al, there may be a couple members on each side who feel digital or analog is the superior medium, but most of the comments are really just personal preferences based on values and experiences. And it seems to me it’s pretty evenly divided.
I think this is a reasonable and accurate assessment of the dynamic.False equivalence, Peter. The chest pounding is mostly on the analog side.
There a few exceptions on the digital side, but those are mostly the "techno babble" digiphiles who poo poo analog for its worse technical measurements (how meaningful these are is debatable). These people pop up on the forum from time to time but usually don't last long, as they find a more natural home on ASR and the like.
Well, there is one more camp. Those that enjoy both. But I will agree with you, all 3 camps do seem equally divided. Why the constant debate about pounding chests over one or the other is beyond me.
In all honesty, I personally think a proper R2R beats them both. But the debate will unfortunately be continued.
Tom
IMO the debate is natural and will go on. The nature of the formats will dictate many choices and is related to out high-end audio preferences.
Here's my thing. Why does there have to be a clear winner? Why can't folks simply enjoy both for what they have to offer? Honestly, both have their own set of attributes, as well as deficiencies. IMO, there is no need to constantly debate them....as there will never be a clear winner. Especially when you factor in gear, advances and personal preference. That's all I am saying.
Tom
Not when it constantly derails threads like this though. None of this has to do with MBL filing for insolvency. That is the topic here, yet this unwinnable debate seems to be a constant interruption on this, as well as many other threads. Even though we currently have a dedicated thread about, "Why, oh why, does vinyl continue to blow away digital? "
Other threads on this debate have been closed over the years because it always seems to end in arguments and personal insults. (...)
