The Iron Dome's Tamir missiles exemplify advanced AI and computational decision-making. With only 10 seconds to calculate interception trajectories, these systems demonstrate sophisticated real-time threat assessment and response capabilities.

Similarly, state security authorities now use predictive AI to anticipate and preempt terrorist group developments, often preventing incidents before they become public knowledge.

In aviation, computer systems increasingly handle critical pilot decisions across multiple aircraft types, including commercial airliners like Airbus and Boeing, as well as advanced fighter jets such as the F-35 and F-22. These systems process complex data and make split-second decisions that were once exclusively human domain.

These examples illustrate how AI and computational technologies have transformed decision-making in defense, security, and transportation, enabling faster, more precise responses in high-stakes scenarios.
In general it seems possible that Expert Systems are being mixed in with AI.
While they both use digital computers, they are not the same thing.

just speaking for myself; i think there are an unlimited amount of shades of intellect and language issues in any on line forum on any subject. but my expectation is that most audiophiles are educated and think cogently. and not all smart people have depth in our hobby......so trying to judge one from the other is a slippery slope. but language is a wild card. we should not attempt to associate one (degrees of intellect) with the other (language skills) and just deal with individual occurrences as best we can.
Most are highly educated enough to have the resources to get into the audio hobby.
However if they applied some of the same logic from the hobby in their professional endeavours, then I suspect that they might get a raised eyebrow or two.
Let’s take for instance doctors, there are probably 1 or 2 here, and the medical industry is built upon efficacy and double blind studies, and eschews conspiracy theories and anti-vaxers. But ten within the hobby, that logic and data driven rigour is all pretty much chucked out.
(But hey, sometimes it is nice to melt into the music)

if AI is a tool that helps and it's handled within the rules then fine. maybe AI can function in a native language and translate too? not sure how that goes.
What rules?

What I thought was so funny in your comment was the possibility that 2 bots could get into a heated argument.
Crazy world we live in. :)

Lol .
And if i was a reviewer id know where to go , makes life a hell of a lot easier ;).

On a side note :
Stopping " progress " AI in this case has never worked in history , because if you don t take advantage of it for " moral " reasons someone else will .
Imagine in the future 2 people applying for the same job .
One with neuralink (who can do the job twice as good ) and one without ......

Apart from language differences, do incoherent native language posts suggest brilliance?
Maybe it does, but in my opinion, having good writing skills is primarily an indication of a good education. Brilliance and intelligence can be correlated with conveying more using the fewest words.

Brevity can be a virtue but it is not synonymous with clarity and coherence.

Christ, is Noam Chomsky really a robot?

AI draws responses to questions by quickly screening the internet for data that would give an answer that appears to meet the parameters of the question poised. There is no fact-checking of that internet data.

Much of what is on the web was added by people (like me) who are likely to write their opinion, not peer-reviewed evidence-based fact.

I recall getting into a discussion with a parent about my professional opinion that her child should get the MMR immunisation. She was adamant that the MMR jab causes autism and that she wasn’t about to take any risks with the health of her child. I assured her that the evidence suggests the opposite and she became angry and left but not before chastising me and suggesting I go back on-line and do my “research”.

Now I see that the head of the department of health in the USA believes the same disproven lies (originally released as part of a scheme to win $millions from the vaccine producers).

There is a whole generation that believe what they read on the internet. They have not undertaken study in research methods and haven’t the tools to judge validity. Add the authority of AI to the mix and behold: the second dark ages.
At the end everyone needs to check the answer\research they do to confirm the answer.

Miss information isn’t new, or just internet issue, it was there before the internet, even when we went to the university library to gather information for our thesis.

1. The Bell Curve (1994) “ Intelligence and Race

Claim: Richard Herrnstein and Charles Murray argued that intelligence is largely genetic and that racial differences in IQ scores explain social inequality.

Conflict: Critics pointed out methodological flaws, biases, and misuse of IQ data, arguing that environmental factors and systemic inequalities were ignored.

2. Jared Diamonds Guns, Germs, and Steel (1997) “ Geographic Determinism

Claim: The book suggests that environmental and geographic factors primarily shaped the dominance of certain civilizations.

Conflict: Historians and anthropologists argue that it oversimplifies history, underestimating cultural, political, and individual human agency.

3. Sigmund Freuds Theories “ Psychoanalysis and Childhood Trauma

Claim: Freud suggested that many psychological disorders stem from repressed childhood trauma, particularly sexual abuse.

Conflict: Later research indicated that some of his case studies were misinterpreted or even fabricated, and many of his theories lack empirical support.

4. Margaret Meads Coming of Age in Samoa (1928) “ Cultural Misinterpretation

Claim: Mead argued that Samoan adolescence was free of stress and sexual repression, unlike in Western societies.

Conflict: Anthropologist Derek Freeman later claimed that Mead was misled by her informants and that her findings were exaggerated or incorrect.

5. The Mismeasure of Man (1981) “ Stephen Jay Gould vs. Biological Determinism

Claim: Gould criticized 19th- and 20th-century racial intelligence studies, arguing they were biased and scientifically flawed.

Conflict: Some modern studies suggest that Gould may have selectively presented data to discredit earlier scientists, leading to accusations of bias.

6. Hitlers Table Talk (1953) “ Misattributed Quotes

Claim: This book presents transcriptions of Adolf Hitlers conversations, often cited to analyze his views.

Conflict: Historians have debated the accuracy of the translations and whether the content was altered by Nazi officials or later editors.

7. Fake Theses and Disputed Research (Recent Cases)

Example: In 2020, Claudine Gay (former Harvard president) faced accusations of plagiarism in her academic work.

Example: In 2002, Jan Hendrik Schön, a physicist, was found to have falsified data in multiple published research papers.

Mike, ever wondered why most Russians sound rude or are misinterpreted as impolite when speaking other languages? It’s because of the way sentences are constructed in Russian.

Many of us who are not native English speakers tend to structure sentences in our own language first and then translate them directly into English. This creates a language gap I see it all the time.

For example, my father lived in the UK for 30 years, and his English is excellent. However, my brother and sister, who were born there, have a completely different level of English proficiency when it comes to speaking and writing. But while they only know three languages, my father speaks eight.

What’s with the ^€” (and others) added to the last two entries? Has the website caught a virus?

Not on the systems I mentioned, we are not talking only on algorithms that are explicitly programmed, but programs that adapt and improve based on data. With respect, I won’t get deeper into this.

Simply bold marked I forgot to remove from the sentence, my default keyboard are different from us english.

In the end I don’t even trust my own brain so I don’t care what other brains tell me:p. I do however trust my ears and emotions ;)

There are at least four issues here related to AI posts:

1) Required disclosure if a post is generated by AI. (I have posted ChatGPT answers to questions. In those posts I indicated conspicuously that I asked Chat GPT the question. I posted the verbatim question I asked, and then I posted the verbatim answer I received from ChatGPT.)

IMO WBF should ban "posts generated by AI" . If you allow them you open a Pandora box - otherwise soon a AI bot will write in his signature "generated by AI" for disclosure and will participate in the forum. :)

2) Are AI detectors reliable? (One post last week which was accused of being AI was rated 100% chance of AI by two detectors, and 55% chance by a third AI detector. I sure wouldn't want AI detectors to be adjudicating allegations against criminal defendants.)

As always, it will depend on what you are wanting to pay. AI bots are evolving and what is good to detect them today will not be tomorrow.
AI is a business. Professional AI tools are better than free or cheap ones.

3) Disciplinary action if a non-AI disclosed post is found by one or more AI detectors administered by the moderators or some other WBF deliberative body to be AI generated.

Are you suggesting moderating the forum using AI techniques with decision power?

4) How should "mixed" AI be treated?

It is the real problem. If this was strictly a non business forum, it could be easily allowed. However considering point 20 of TOS and the situations that are now happening I can't see how to deal with it.

I think nobody wants to read robotic comments here, but instead of completely banning AI, perhaps we could limit its use to proofreading for clarity.

Slippery slope.
