They all want to sell us more stuff, that is what it is all about !I watched the vid , Lets fix that ???
Most people just are not interested in high end audio , its just not something they would spend money on .
You don t need to fix that why let people do what they want .
He wants to sell more of his stuff , thats clear.
And with all these " by appointment dealers " and high prices these days the entry is getting higher and higher .
Magazines should also stop with proclaiming that high dollar 200 -300 K speakers sound miles better than a 30 - 50 K set .
Most of the time its the audiophile himself who needs to make it sound like a coherent whole
YouTubers, magazines, dealers/ manufacturers, WBF add department and the random pretend fanboy ! Even Marc has a not so well hidden agenda these days, i want those air-blades now !

Sure. Perhaps sometimes, for some, listening to a quality hifi system can be revelatory. You suddenly "get" what the artist is doing. You can get the same effect by listening to certain music for the first time in a concert hall. A hifi system magnifies things and can be very involving. But if I were given the choice between keeping my hifi system and never listening again to some of my favorite artists, let's say, or listening to them but never to my hifi system, I know what I would choose (the latter)... I would be happy to give up my hifi system for an opportunity to jump back in time, say to the 1940s or 50s, and sit for a few hours in a club listening to Lester Young perform...
We can shamelessly enjoy our hobby without arguing that the rest of the world lives in darkness.
Exactly , what puts me of the most in high end audio is the elitist culture that very often comes along with it.
Its just music and people can enjoy it where and wherever they want

I don’t think I’ve heard speakers in the 200,000 to $300,000 range. I did just help set up a friends $3000 speaker, and his system with this speaker produced a better listening experience than I’ve had from any other system with a cone in a box speaker except the one where I first heard this speaker. Yes, everything depends in this hobby.
Incidentally Francisco, I am listening to one of your favorites La Folia, Gregorio Paniagua on Harmonia Mundi LP right now. Have not yet heard this on my new system.
Whoa, way off topic. Sorry. I’m not listening as a refuge to get away from the chaos noise and distractions in the world today. I simply want to listen to the music.

What is this $3k speaker?
Please tell us what you think of it. How many bumble bees and horseflies did you listen close to the streamlet?
Remember that for those special occasions we also have Paniagua Tarentule-Tarentelle - although less known it is also great music with great sound quality.
11 years ago, when i went from the Evolution MM3's, to the Evolution MM7's, it was going from a (at that time) $75k speaker to a $200k speaker. now it would be $100k to a $300k speaker.Surely everything depends in this hobby.

the music reproduction experience got quite a bit better, much of that was much more extension and linearity in the bass, some of it was the -4- 11 inch woofers per side that improved things in the mid bass. some of it was much more driver surface, for greater ease, and the much better crossover at the higher price point. the cabinets and drivers we mostly interchangeable between the models. not always the case from one level to another level.
if today we look at an equivalent $30k-$50k new speaker the gap would be much larger for most music. in my particular room.
but the room set-up demands for the more capable speaker are more extreme. the more modest speaker does not require as much from the room for it to get close to optimal.
I’m pretty sure that the laws of Physics apply equally to all electro-acoustic transducers; you can probably check that with your son in law. Not sure how boundaries interface differently with “more capable speakers”. Your sense of grandiosity is comical.
