Taiko Audio SGM Extreme : the Crème de la Crème

I haven't used Roon in a long time. Are the updated Extremes on 1.8(build 898)?

Last one, I promise. This is the best I have *ever* heard my music sound! Emile and company — thank you very very much!

Hi Emile.
I loaded Teamviewer yesterday at 23:30. How can I know if the keys are still active?

You just look at the credentials and see if they are the same as they were. Look at your email that you sent and see if they match what are there now.

Thx

Good morning,

When the update has been applied you can load the appropriate USB profile, for which profile to use see the table at the end of this post, those are located on your desktop and you can execute them by right-clicking and selecting "Run with Powershell". The Extreme will then reboot and the profile will be active.

Next you have to select the appropriate output bit rate in Roon according to the same table.

one observation, one question:

at step 2 on an android phone, the 'audio' tab is at the top (not the left) and is not visible until you swipe left

after step 7, when the bits/sample is set for roon, my screen selections differ from what Emile shows.
specifically, both the 'use max buffer size' and 'use power of 2 buffer sizes' are set to Yes, while Emile's screen shows them set to No.

haven't listened yet...........it's fun time now.

TotalDAC users: i've set my initial buffers setting to usb3............please report here if you prefer usb1 or usb3

'use max buffer size' and 'use power of 2 buffer sizes' are set to Yes <--- Better disable those, those are not default values!

Last minute I managed to boost TAS sound quality to be more competitive again. I’ll leave comparisons for those who feel like it.

We have decided to make Roon the default on system startup. To use TAS you will have to launch the TAS remote and switch to TAS.

As we have integrated a part of TAS into the new USB driver, being of obvious mayor benefit to Roon, you will have to set TAS buffers to Auto or it will not play. See the attached screenshot.

Can someone remind me how one gets to this configuration screen?

My “very quick and subject to change” assessment of the OS and driver upgrade is that I now prefer Roon over TAS. TAS’s sound has gotten a little thin compared to Roon.
