Taiko Audio SGM Extreme : the Crème de la Crème

A question for the Taiko team regarding the software choices and architecture:

Why Windows and not another OS?

I'm thinking for instance of a BSD based system which license would allow the development of closed source software ( guaranteeing the commercial aspect and the intellectual property).

Or a Linux, more widespread, but whose license imposes constraints.

This would allow to have a solid and perennial software foundation (OS and userland).
Most likely because Windows can be adjusted/modified more easily and has the most knowledge of the developers....

Not part of the Taiko team,. but I know the answer:0) Using the Windows OS delivers BETTER SOUND.
From that point of view I don't think the OS is what matters most.

What matters most is the person standing between the keyboard and the chair ;-)

I would disagree about one point. BSD based systems and Linux are open. One has access to the code, which is not the case with Windows.

Having control over the code of the OS allows it to be maintained in the long term (long term consistency). With an OS like Windows or any other closed OS we are dependent on the company producing it.

Here is some eye candy for the weekend

this seems to be 100% unnecessary, since the AI version of xdms (contact Elon for help) should always know exactly what i want to hear now, next time and forever :)

you only need one button, "play what i want to hear"
simple

XDMS is firmly in the Freedom to Find and Choose your own Music Movement

We have been instructed to say “It’s Top Secret Sir !”

“If we give you the Link, we would have to kill you”
And they can kill you remotely via TeamView:)

a couple of questions please:

1. can xdms play/stream podcasts directly?
2. if not, can xdms play previously downloaded podcasts?
3. can xdms play audio from other arbitrary apps running on the same phone/tablet? (e.g. the MLB gameday app lets me listen to Boston Red Sox baseball games, both streaming live and archived. can the audio be redirected to my Extreme?

Potentially yes, XDMS can play Radio stations but it is low down on our wish list.

Not on our list at the present time, is a digital input such as Airplay or Blutooth
