Taiko Audio SGM Extreme : the Crème de la Crème

Hi all, here's a capture showing all of the XDMS screens, as we are finalizing the design and button- and function inter-linking in Adobe XD. Simultaneously, we have several software coders and GFX designers working full-time and are beta-testing new builds every week.

Well, Christian denied the possibility of Christmas coming early, so...
That's not what I meant. I responded to Steve Williams' mention of Edwards's earlier prediction that this could be the last TAS round. What I was pointing out is that Emile had supplied a later update after that, which I outlined in the excerpt. As for timing, we just can't make any promises at this stage. Please trust that it is as soon as possible.

I, for one, am patient. (We don’t need no stinking bugs!)

Creating software for a diverse user base, some who have a ‘just make it work’ mentality and others who, no-doubt, write their own code and can over-geek anything.

An intuitive user interface and a robust set of optimizations often conflicting with each other… then throw in the whole “dude, that function you coded, compiled, and checked into last nights build -- I hate to break it to you but it sounds like crap.”

Not a lot of developers have ever had to deal with the last part.

I say good on you team Taiko. If you make my system even better optimizing code for sound quality, good on you!

Does anyone know if the taiko usb driver supports the benchmark dacs?

The interesting thing is that I can see my Japanese titles on TAS but couldn’t in Roon.
Japanese, korean and chinese is what I listen a lot to.

I can see the titles in TAS, I just can’t play the songs.

Benchmark is currently not on the list of supported DACs. I will check internally if it can be added. FWIW, the list of compatible DACs can be found on the Extreme page on the Taiko site, just look for the document labeled "USB Profile Selection Guide" at the bottom of the page: https://taikoaudio.com/taiko-2020/extreme-music-server/

Update: we're in the process of adding Benchmark to the driver.

I'm afraid to even ask: Has anyone installed Roon Build 1021?

@Zeotrope: Which version? Go into Roon settings/About/and it will tell you the version you have installed. Former version 988, now with update 1021...

@marty:LOL! Me either Marty, I may plagiarize the "Roon Rolling". 1021, at this pace we may see version10,452!

Hi John = With some trepidation I hit the Roon update to Build 1021. No discernible change for the worse or better, whew!

New TAS issue. I have a good collection of tricks in my tool-bag I use to get TAS back up when it goes out, but none are working for this one.

This time it shows the track playing, but with no sound. In the past this would indicate the DAC needs to restart, or pull usb cable out/in, however that's not working this time.

Roon is working.

Any ideas?

@wil: I take it you did do a soft restart on the Extreme?

Is there a particular Roon build that people think sounds the best?

Follow up. Sound is coming from TAS again, but not from the 2 albums I was having the issue with. They were playing on Roon however.... Very strange as both are Qobuz.
