Visit to Marc C.'s (SpiritOfMusic's) House in England

Phil, I really can't thank you enough for taking the time to convince me of this approach, and going the extra mile on specifying a likely ideal placement/install.
I'll freely admit I was a little skeptical, and at the same time confused by how to apportion diffusion and absorption, and the bewildering choice of products.
Your favoured PETs route seemed too simple to be likely positive.
How I was proved wrong...

Well...actually...I'm coming to a bit of closure.
These PETs are my last big change for this year, other than the Straingauge stylii replacements and energizer upgrade currently on order, I have a couple of Sablon Bocchino upgrades to finish my cables loom, a handful of Herbies Tube Dampers for my quad 211s and 6DJ8s.
Other than investing in a stock of these tubes as back up, that's me done.
Once chapel renovations are complete in 2024, I may investigate new Zu Definitions 6 spkrs, but that is seriously dependent on how building work goes here/my income holds up post-Covid.

Well I have just spent a week not coming to the main listening room, mainly because I was really enjoying my second system, almost thinking why do you need better?

However, back in the main room and it is just insane by comparison. No, really. Just so much better it is absurd. If you forget what can be achieved the whole hobby is unnecessary to most people. Including those involved with it. It IS unnecessary, but it is amazing what the best systems can do.

I am thinking of listing my Duettas at £55K on eBay. On the basis that they eat MBL 101e for breakfast. They are just shite by comparison.

Sines and Singularities by Bluetech is one of my fave 'write code to' albums and it just sounds fab in here at the mo.

Whatever. Don't listen to my true bullshit. I am biased.

BTW I am sure your system is much better but this is a lot better than you heard last time.

I am going to send Jon more money if this Duetta set up stands up to the test of time / gets through the test period. Though I deserve more too for being so persistent about doing what needed to be done;)

At the moment, yes.
How far are they from the front wall ? How large is the room ? What amps ? For the record i love Duettas ! :)

Justin, my mate Alan in Cali is just taking possession of new Duettas from Jon. I think they incorporate a few tricks from the Interstellas. Good luck getting the price you want.
Re my sound, I dont really think any of us need to worry about comparisons, your lovely Duettas, my lovely Zus, Peter's lovely Vitavoxs...they're all lovely Lol.

I dunno I am definitely subversive at the mo...

UK Subs - A Different Kind Of Tension.

Say no more for super hard core elemental madness. Duettas being ever more truthful at rendering stuff like this.

Loving it. Will make it to your place someday.

Haha...Duettas could have been my future had I kept that first invite to you.
The fickle hand of fate.

BTW I was teasing. I am not selling my Duettas and I don't have any MBLs at the moment;)

Has Alan really got his Duettas? If so, that was quick. Really quick...

But of those, which are natural. The best rock systems I heard also did the best Beethoven 9th

Where are your duettas on the upgrade path .. a buddy of mine has the third upgrade from Graz so I think its only xover remaining from the original :)... stunning result
High quality to price ratio !
Phil

It didnt really work out for Charles Foster Kane. His big WE horns really didn't sound any good in Xanadu.

Nothing is original apart from the magnet arrays.

You really need to open your own thread, Justin. I mean your Apogee street cred must be shot with you being seen publically alongside deeply unfashionable Zus lol.
