Love it as well - very smooth transition from Pac with Nixie to Horizon with Nixie
It must be said, that the typical display like LCD or OLED require separate poWer supply (nixie doesnt) and its processor to manage pixels (nixie doesnt) and the processor needs a clock and data bus (nixie doesnt) and the lcd generates some level of noise (nixie doesnt) so it is a very wise choice for a DAC.
Hm...knowing him a "bit" I would say this is within the realm of something I don't believe it will happen. After he decompress from all the stress related to Horizon and I guess other stuff imposed by current world we live in, things get into normal daily production, sails the Cape Horn alone, wins the Americas Cup with the Polish team, creative part will kick in and here we go again.....so much so that I heard comments that he cannot build anything better than the Horizon
Can you provide a link?Last night I started a thread on Audiogon on the Horizon. I woke up this morning and read the comments and I was upset. It is also why I value the people on WBF for information and advice. Check out the thread and respond if you care.
Will - You rarely find people like here on WBF...usually forums are places with uber strange personas (imho)Last night I started a thread on Audiogon on the Horizon. Unfortunately communities like this one are the exception rather than the norm, which is a testament to the way Steve and Ron run this forum. People are fast to criticize things they've yet to experience and even faster still if their knee jerk reaction is that something is 'too expensive' for what it is.Last night I started a thread on Audiogon on the Horizon. These are the same people who say a 500 dac is all you need or formats don’t matterWill - You rarely find people like here on WBF...usually forums are places with uber strange personas (imho)

Maybe AKM, as they started to ship their new "Velvet Sound" chips for developers, come with some ground breaking stuff and voila...critical mass is there...
And lastly - never underestimate the power of the force
For the money you paid Steve I should hope so.So you’ve never heard but have such a bold opinion. To each our own I guess
YMMV but I’m betting I’m crossing the finish line
Well that makes you an expert I guessFor the money you paid Steve I should hope so.
I doubt the gap is as big as you suppose it might be, but enjoy it and don't get upset by my statements. Tisn't worth the while.
I know what I know, though. And I have heard a lot of Lampis and owned three.
Hopefully, for the next couple of years he will work on taking the technology from the higher end dacs to the lower onesHm...knowing him a "bit" I would say this is within the realm of something I don't believe it will happen. Lukasz can start with Pacific but it would be great if it makes it all the way down the line. Here is hoping it makes it to amber/baltic level.or even a reboot of the Pacific
